Dear Mr. Trump
Please take a moment and listen:
Less than half of those who can vote, voted for you. You didn't win by a landslide.
But here's the real point of this post. Many in this country are comparing you to Adolf Hitler. Yes, I know that sounds extreme to you, but it happens to be so.
Hitler came to power with a minority of votes. He named many scapegoats such as Communists, Gypsies, Gays, Jews, and a bunch of other "thems."
You came to power with a minority of votes in the same way. And yes, I know that no one was more surprised about your "win" than you were, and I know you are still trying to figure out how the hell you got to be president elect. Don't feel bad. Many of us are trying to figure it out too.
But on January 20th of next year, you are going to be sworn in as President of the United States. So what kind of president will you be and how will you be remembered? Do you want to be viewed as some guy who profited more that any huckster in history ever dreamed of? Or as a man who recognized the pain of middle class America and tried to fix it?
The choice is yours, Mr. Trump. Many suspect which path you will opt to choose. But what if you prove them to be wrong? What if you choose to improve the lot of the multitudes? What if you decide that you want to be remembered as a great president?
That's a big "If." But it's really in your hands. It's up to you. Do you want to be remembered in history as a "great man," or as a tyrant? Your choice.
