WE ARE GOING TO PROTEST "That bad man" (words of my 5 yr old granddaughter)?w=500&h=207
Going to go with mr pete and the entire family, including the grandchildren.
We will be meeting with good friends, designing signs, hugging and marching with purpose.
Suddenly, I feel empowered.

(28,394 posts)Learning about the march helped me to crawl out from under the bed. I was pleasantly surprised to find kindred spirits even here in trumpland!

(7,908 posts)are entirely without value, mind you). But a Saturday protest will be easily ignored by the media and will inconvenience none of the fascists. Still, there is psychological value in solidarity. Now a protest of a million during the Inauguration . . . ? That I would pay to see.

(7,908 posts)about how mass protests can actually scare the shit out of the establishment.
I'm in California and am toying with the idea of going to D.C. for Inauguration. Haven't made the decision yet.

(21,020 posts)one good reason to watch the inauguration.
Although if the protest doesn't make the national news, I won't bother unless I hear that a spaceship came out of nowhere and made a couple of key abductions.

I hope my sign is a hit, and its shows up on the nightly news, because they MSM are going to show the "normalizing" of racists standing together on that "stage" while he is being sworn in by a racists and the racists fascist

(15,220 posts)I'm unable to go, but I am so thankful that there are others who can!
I'm a 57-year old pro-choice woman who lives in a Texas, and I am scared every morning that I wake up because I know women's rights are eroding faster than ever now. I won't ever be scarred by the need of an abortion because of my age. But I worry very much for younger women who may need safe access. I worry about their physical safety, and I worry about the mental toll that all of the idiots preaching against their decisions may take on the mental health of those young women.
So, please. A few steps for me and my generation. Thank you in advance!

(24,688 posts)it's going to be on white board with big old black letters
I just wonder if there is going to be "zones of free speech"
and this is for all of the generations that have protested ever since Nam, Standing Rock (my brother and sisters, and what they are enduring), WTO, ect.......
This sign is a aftermath of 45 years of racist insults that people have had and this country and will now have two racists looking at each other and winking while swearing in from a racist bigot in the U.S. Supreme Court and a serial predator
