Barack Obama is black so this is just a wee bit different.
Really, you got anything to say about that instead of basic agreement with the ridiculous comparison post. |

before the 2000 election. In Bush's case it was because of his physical resemblance to a chimp.

Of course, it's racist but getting your knickers in a twist won't change anything.

13. Actually, it is useful to revisit WHY we called Bush Chimpy and why it's very different...
|
...to say the same about Obama. It should be obvious but some people (**cough**teabaggers**cough**) need the dots connected.
It wasn't just Bush's look (facial characteristics and ears) that prompted the comparison. It was also his lifelong reputation for not being too bright. Whether it was due to a basic lack of curiosity or an actual lack of basic capacity, Dubya was pretty infamous as a dull boy. Mediocre student, failed businessman, mangler of his native tongue, Bush owed his success to a golden Rolodex, name recognition, and an ability to schmooze. None of that is true for Obama, a law professor and superior orator who did NOT come from a world of money & family connections. So what's the only reason left to compare him with simians? ummm.. ahh.. ahh... They can claim ignorance (also known as the "I'm just fucking stupid" defense), but if so then they should look in the mirror for the monkey. |

16. We can revisit all we would like, but this thread was about Obama being called a Monkey.
|
Not to deflect the absolute abhorrent actions of the right wing radio talk show host by giving a comparison of Duers who called bush a chimp.
It's offensive on its face. both of them did not have anything to say except Duers called bush a monkey. Had nothing to say about the racist comment. Just they hey, Duers called bush a chimp/monkey. |

11. RACIST RADIO HOST CALLS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A “MONKEY”
|
Last edited Tue Jun 19, 2012, 08:08 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
Barbara Espinosa Posted by Jeffrey Crooks on Jun 16, 2012 In an unprecedented inappropriate comment made by a “Hair on Fire” talk show host from Arizona. The host who stepped way out of line to disrespect the President of the United States calling him a name. As a Former Marine goes on a rant about the President, Talk show host Barbara Espinosa jumps in to call the President a “monkey. The man was on the show talking about how he felt the current President Barrack Obama, was enforcing communist views onto America. When he called the President a man with Rabbit Ears. Barbara Espinosa cut him off to say “Well Joe, I dont call him guy with Rabbit ears, I call him a Monkey,” “I dont believe in calling him the first black President,” “I voted for the White guy myself”. One of the guests on the show, became so disgusted with the host of the show, that he went on to give them a piece of his mind saying that “people who supposedly care about Freedom, are unwilling to be tolerant to any other idea other than their own,” (Clip of Barbara Espinosa saying it and fake apology at link.)
