Breathing brown

This is Ft. Collins CO today. It's also what Greeley looks like. With my breathing problems, I'm not venturing outside. Friends who just came in from a walk say that we have ash falling here. With the temp nearing 100 it truly is hellish. Worst fire in Colorado history, more evacuations ordered.

The photo is from www.coloradoan.com , Ft. Collins newspaper.

I wouldn't be able to go outside, either. I've read reports that predict the fire won't be out until the Fall. I hope you get some relief before then.

OMG
I would have sworn the town was on fire.
Lots of people wearing particulate masks.
Ash everywhere. And they say 4 more weeks of this.

My white venetian blinds look beige from the outside light. And it turns out my glasses weren't dirty, it's actually getting a bit hazy inside my apartment, all the windows are closed. Not happy.

When our big fire here in NM first roared up, my very athletic neighbor went to the store on her bike. she barely made it home, hacking and wheezing all the way, collapsing on her couch. It didn't even look that bad that day but I felt like I had a Republican sitting on my chest.

The next couple of days it got much, much worse. I didn't see the mountains, 10 miles to the east, for a week.

I hope it changes for you the way it finally changed for us, the winds changing and forcing the flames back over burned out areas. It's still several weeks until the monsoon sets up (if it doesn't fizzle out again) and I doubt we would have survived that long.
