How to run America like a Business
To show a profit, America has to maximize revenue and minimize costs.
Only one department of the government generates revenue—the IRS. So double that department.
Eliminate the rest, except for a military large enough to defend the money and to ensure IRS enforcement of tax laws.
All assets of the federal government that are not turning a profit would be sold. I doubt any federal lands are turning a bigger profit than could be realized by their sale, so they're gone. Auctioned off to whatever internal or international entity wants them. Same for the buildings. The Library of Congress has a lot of collectible paper ephemera. Same for the archives. Some news companies would probably pay something for exclusive looks at some classified stuff.
Arlington cemetery is very desirable real estate. It is a terrible business decision to have graves there, instead of condominiums. Move the bodies to Wyoming. Or sell them to the families! Even better.
After selling off the assets and closing all the unprofitable departments of government we then take all the cash off-shore and auction off whatever remains.
(If we acquired America in a leveraged take-over we would still owe on that financing, so after laundering and hiding the profits we would declare bankruptcy.)
