Media Allows Terrible Double Standard For GOP.

No matter how base or nasty the GOP is or how corrupt or badly they act, it is ok. Even a GOP candidate issuing violent threat to Hillary is still overlooked. Even infidelity and tremendous hypocrisy are ok. Democrats cannot do anything except be perfect. Any fault is magnified thousands of times over. Democrats cannot even get credit for doing the right things. In fact they get criticized even when the push the right policies.

So it does not matter that Trump is a gross philanderer. It would not matter if he was a damned pedophile with visual proof. He can get away with just about anything. Sure the press had been critical in some ways. His transgressions are gone so fast.

The problem is that the media is working are to put Hillary away for the slightest offense. Trump should have been politically dead and buried even before he started.

We all know that all of the above is true. The problem is how do we stop it and hold the media's feet to the fire? There are ideas of actions that do not deserve even the light of day or millisecond of consideration. False equivalency is a fraud.

that their are 2 sets of facts.

Republican facts and Democratic facts.

No government can function under those circumstances.

Supply Side Economics, (trickle down) has decades of proof

that it is a failed policy.

Anyone who goes on TV and spouts the benefits of Supply Side Economics

should be ridiculed.

That is just 1 example.

Think of all the other examples where Republicans are taken seriously

when when the FACTS prove otherwise.

But they also maintain both the boundaries for discussion of economic ideology and the framework for political debate. A good bit of their 'job', is to promote a common worldview among the electorate.

I have to chuckle when people from older generations bash millennials as if it were millennials that invented the concept of getting butthurt and running off to a "safe space."

I mean, what is Fox News, if not a giant "safe space" for American conservatives?

It's human nature to try to seek out affirmation of one's opinions and to avoid challenges. The problem is that the mainstream news venues know that they're going to get the viewers that seek to consume a wide range of information sources regardless... they have to pander to all the delicate flowers out there to increase their viewer share.

You're right about FOX News. They want to make the whole country their own personal safe space. "Make America Safe Again!"

It's just amazing to me that the policies of today's GOP and the desires of its voter base would, I think, lead us to becoming a country like those they abhor (as do all of us), e.g. Nazi Germany, North Korea, Taliban/ISIS territories.

Sadly she will never get a fair shot. They just hate this woman. Of course they will never
admit this. I love how most in the media call her a liar without a shred of intent. God i
would love it if she sued some of these assholes that call her a liar on national tv pretty
much daily. She would have one hell of a case. And she would be able to easily prove
intent. Something they got nothing on her about anything.

It's why they have "narratives" in the first place, and it's why they pigeonhole candidates so early in the primary process, and politicians in general. It's because the MSM's main mission is to entertain you, not inform you.

The Democrats are the responsible, upright, do-gooder citizens who really do love their country, have good solutions, and play by the rules. The Republicans are the trust-fund bullies that care more about themselves than the public good, and will lie, cheat and steal to get whatever self-serving result they want.

Wait, those descriptions actually sounds true, right? Now... think of it as a live soap opera. Think of it as Survivor. Think of it as a never-ending season of Big Brother. What kinds of narratives govern how these scenarios are presented to us?

Basically this: There's always a character we are supposed to "love to hate" that is constantly thwarting those around him/her who are trying to put things right. Or, in two words: Conflict sells.

And that's it! Ironically, the media's double-standard may actually be an implicit admission that Democrats are indeed the good guys in the whole political process, and guys like Trump -- if not the entire GOP -- are the real-world crazy, vengeful bad guys. The media won't tip this cart over by prosecuting it's villain characters. What fun is that? So...

WILL blacks ever be treated equally?? WILL the middle class ever get a fair shake?? WILL a woman ever be able to be President?? WILL good prevail????

The narratives demand we tune in week after week, even year after year, to see What. Happens. Next. in these literally never-ending, tightly-crafted narratives.

The MSM understands the issues, understand the problems, understands the politics and the players. But this is all they really want:
