They are attacking the vagina in Arlington,Texas.Arlington Rep. Bill Zedler tries a new path for rejected abortion rules AUSTIN — Rep. Bill Zedler of Arlington has worked for years to get women to provide the state with more information about why they’re getting abortions. His bills mandated that they answer a slew of questions, including ones about coercion, incest, the age of the would-be father, fear of losing family support, financial concerns and readiness for motherhood. He also wants abortion clinics to provide more information. The price of collecting the information, the invasiveness of the questions and the polarizing nature of abortion legislation meant Zedler’s bills failed, even in a Legislature dominated by Republicans and anti-abortion sentiments. Now, at Zedler’s urging, the state health department has copied some of his legislation into proposed state regulations on abortion, prompting alarm bells from abortion rights groups that fear serious implications from provisions hammered out away from public view. The groups, including Planned Parenthood, say they fear the state would gather information that could identify patients and judges who grant abortions to minors. In addition, they say, the information could cause doctors to fear unjust sanctions. For Zedler, gathering the new information is a legitimate state interest. “The more information you can find out about who’s getting the abortion and why they’re getting it is helpful,” Zedler said Friday. I just got off of work, and am tired... Well, now I', PISSED and tired. Oy.

10. Bio for Zedler
|
http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/member-page/?district=96#member-biography
Representative Zedler is a 30-year resident of Arlington, where he and his wife, Ellen, raised their family. Active in his community, he serves on the Advisory Board of the Arlington Pregnancy Center and has been an Elder at Park Springs Bible Church.
After earning his Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in 1967, Representative Zedler entered the U.S. Army and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Serving as a hospital personnel officer, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal during a tour-of-duty in Vietnam. After concluding his military service, Representative Zedler embarked on a successful career in the healthcare industry, holding positions with Jelco Labs, Baxter Healthcare, Pyxis Corporation, and Bridge Medical. He continues to work in the healthcare sector providing consultative services. In the Texas House, Representative Zedler has proven himself to be a principled conservative who will continue to fight for limited government, limited taxation, free enterprise, and traditional values. For these efforts, Representative Zedler has been named a "Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business, a "Taxpayer Champion" by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, and a "Defender of Life" by Texas Right to Life. He has also been a recipient of the Defender of the American Dream Award, the Advocacy Tribute Award, and the Face of Courage Award, and has been honored by The Century Council, Texas Hospital Association, Texas Pediatric Society, Arlington ISD, and numerous chambers of commerce. So he's way up Big Pharma's ass like the Good Lord told him to be. The "Arlington Pregnancy Center"? How nice. |

15. This is simply another way of harassing and embarrassing women
|
The purpose of the ultrasound bill in Texas was to harass and punish women who exercised their right to control their body. These questions are simply another way of harassing and trying to embarrass women who try to exercise their rights.

18. Why are liberals and progressives surprised and shocked when Pubs do this in Red States?
|
It is like asking a lion why it eat the gazelle, this is what pubs do.
If you don't like your situition, move. I did decades ago, sure it was tough at first but it was the best thing I ever did because if I did say I would have been up in a tower with a high powered rifle. Which is another fine Texas tradition. |
