My car broke down last month

An officer pulled up behind me as I waited for the tow truck I had called. I got out and approached him as he was putting on his safety vest and he didn't pull out his gun...didn't even give me any orders. I even went back to my vehicle while he was standing right there and got my cell phone from my front seat. Not a peep about keeping my hands in sight.

Anyway, of course I am a white male (so was the cop). Even so, I was driving a car that is in the middle of a restoration and looks like something a crack addict might own (no paint, mismatched wheels, missing trim). One might have even said I might "be on something" driving a car like that...

LEO's are a pretty good judge of character just from sight and initial demeanor.

I was wearing gym shorts and a T-shirt (it's Florida after all). I was not acting broken down so I guess I was not acting like my car.

My car broke down and a cop pulled up and I got out of the car and was immediately ordered back into the car by the officer.

I am a white male as was the cop and I was driving a late model sedan.

Getting out of the car when a cop pulls up is never a good thing, it can be seen as aggression.

I wonder why the cop wanted you in it.

Maybe your driver door opened onto the roadway and he merely wanted you to be safe?
