GOP ECONOMIC POLICY HAS DESTROYED KANSAS, LOUISIANA AND WISCONSIN; NOW THEY HOPE TO NATIONALIZE IT

The entire rest of the party is committed to gigantic cuts to welfare, as shown by the budget formulated by House Republicans. Their most recent plan would slash $5.3 trillion in spending over a decade, 69 percent of which would come from programs for the needy.

GOP tax cuts destroyed Kansas – and almost N.J. | Editorial

It's deeply alarming, even for conservatives, to see how tax cuts by a Republican governor have completely ravaged Kansas's budget. It has screwed the public schools, because the mystical promise of tax cuts creating new revenue failed, yet again.

Bobby Jindal’s Anti-Tax Fervor May Have Destroyed Louisiana

But once Jindal was elected, he set about dismantling the income tax system. Rates for wealthy people returned to their pre-referendum levels. Shielding the state’s haves left Louisiana with about $800 million less each year to fund services for its have-nots. The surpluses Jindal walked into turned quickly into deficits.

Walker’s Total Destruction in Wisconsin

On Sunday, July 12, Walker signed the financially austere, socially vindictive 2015-2017 budget that shifts hundreds of millions of dollars out of public schools into private, unaccountable charter and voucher schemes, deepens the consolidation of power in the Department of Administration, and keeps the tax credits and forgivable loans flowing to campaign donors and others through the ineffective Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

http://www.progressive.org/news/2015/07/188229/walker%E2%80%99s-total-destruction-wisconsin

Mega Corporations like Oil, WalMart the Kock Bros have been running the countries main tax plan and buying politicians, changing laws having the majority in the supreme court. We are in trying times that can and may get worse if Americans don't wake up to the complete corporate take over of government. They are ruthless without mercy, greed is blinding with collateral devastation at this level.

Repugs do not WANT an educated and insightful citizenry to oppose the tyranny they envision. Uneducated rubes make for more docile serfs, who can be more easily exploited for their masters' profits. This is the ultimate Repuglikkkan wet dream, pushed by Kochs and their ilk.

It is imperative that we stop it before it becomes a reality, as it is in KS, WI, and LA.

Driving out national and international businesses, the Film industry, good, experienced, professional teachers, and hundreds of millions in federal Medicaid dollars. All so that they can have the perfect Neo-Christian theocracy where no one argues about the environmental impact of Fracking on air quality or drinking water, or the impact of endless urban growth, or Duke Power's coal-ash dumps, or rising tide levels, or severely heightened taxes on everyday items like food and services.

Even those who enthusiastically voted them in 4 years ago are now voicing serious doubts about that wisdom.

In the last line, for even more pointed accuracy, change "mystical" to "MYTHICAL." That old stale GOP crap-spew that tax cuts raise revenue is a complete unsubstantiated MYTH. So utterly fictitious a fairy tale as to be almost worthy of the Brothers Grimm.

BASTARD! That just pumped all kinds of juice into the I-Hate-Government movement (WHY do you hate government? Are you one of those childish brats who stamp their little feet and wave their tiny hands around and yowl "NOBODY tells ME what to do?&quot .

I'm sure the people who have to dig out and start over in the flood zones still buy that "I hate government" crap. And the populated fire zones out here, too. DAMMIT, sometimes you NEED a larger over-arching entity to step in and do stuff. To provide HELP. When the problem is way bigger than you, you NEED a larger entity like that! That's part of the reason we pay taxes. So there's help, and there are helpers, who can step in. And an entity that doesn't automatically present you with a big invoice like the private sector would do.

I LIKE your screen name!

And as for Brownback and others like him, I find the idea of a nice warm place at the end of things to be a comforting thought. I used to wish unemployment on these assholes, but they always wriggle out of that. They should be made to walk in the shoes of the people they hurt, and short-changed, and threw into poverty for the sake of comforting the already-plenty-comfortable.

And that never happens. They never get a taste of what their precious "trickle-down" philosophy does to the less powerful and less influential.

Instead, they usually get lots of nice luxury lifeboats and safe havens. There are positions in prominent law firms, hideouts in big-time well-funded "think tanks" and "foundations" and "institutes" that spread the CON poison, big-time lobbying outfits for which they can be spokespeople, a place in the infrastructure of the RNC where they can further the efforts of other likeminded people to go out and screw over THEIR constituents, or some network hires them as a "commentator" so they have a nice media platform to spew their poison and try to convince the public that they were right all along. These assholes NEVER pay for what they've done. They usually wind up being paid more, and insulated from any responsibility or accountability. It'll happen for him, too, I'm sure. For all we know, CNN could be calling, right now, trying to be first in line to grab him after his career craters in Kansas.

Never thought I'd be grateful to that little weenie Pete Wilson, but he pushed that anti-Latino Prop 187. And it just pushed shit all over the "good" name of the GOP, flying in the face of the fastest-growing demographic in our state, if not the whole country by now. And that helped flip California from red to blue. Ah-nold left us in such bad financial shape that it provided us the coup de grace.

Hello Jerry Brown, who came in, with a full grip on reality as it exists, and the hard work that had to be done to right the ship, including raising taxes. So now, jobs are up, the oceans of red ink have dried up, and we have a budget surplus that will sure come in handy for the firefighting efforts and drought relief. Thank God the voters understood what needed to be done. GOP = getting totally fucked.

We avoided becoming a West Coast Kansas by trusting our state to level-headed Democrats willing to deal with inconvenient truths and uncomfortable reality instead of pie-in-the-sky sellers like Sam Brownback and others who just SWEAR up and down that trickle-down WILL work. Cut taxes and just magically, the economy will improve and lots of jobs will just magically be created! Yeah, My Ass. Kansas believed him. Kansas took his word for it. Kansas swallowed that trickle-down bullshit of his, whole, without even trying to chew it a little. And Kansas is now, as a direct result, completely and totally fucked.

We now have a Democrat for governor but for the last four years republicans controlled the entire state government.
Our schools are failing and only the rich suburbs have enough funding
50% drop out rate in Philadelphia. The state took over this district years ago. So basically republicans ran the district.
Our credit rating is crashing
Our infrastructure is failing
We have a 60 billion dollar pension bomb. Because republicans refused to pay the year to year bill.
Our budget is in the red year to year with systemic debt problems.
We lag the nation in job creation. We were 49th.
Taxes have been cut for corporations in pa with no replacement of the funds.
We are is serious trouble and it has been caused by the failed policy of trickle down economics and the refusal to pay our bills. Republicans still refuse to raise taxes instead they cut taxes and then refuse to pay our bills. They have screwed our economy for decades to come.
