‘Where is the f*cking check?’: Louisiana relief worker spits fire over Trump’s flood zone ‘photo op’

Last edited Sun Aug 21, 2016, 09:08 AM - Edit history (2)

A Louisiana resident who is working to aid the thousands of people who have lost their homes and been displaced in the state’s historic flooding lashed out at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Facebook Saturday:

“Our Governor has explicitly asked Obama to NOT VISIT at this moment because our first responders are STILL saving people’s lives. YES, It has been a week and there is still standing water. Tens of thousands of people are displaced. This is a NIGHTMARE and our governor does not want to shut down interstates that are BRINGING IN SUPPLIES just to escort our President into the city.”

...

“Our Governor literally told him (as this article shows) that Trump is welcome in our state but if he’s coming he better be volunteering or writing a sizable check to assist with recovery,” continued Butkus. “A 60 second video of him unloading play-doh from a truck does not count.”

Finally, she demanded, “Trump. Seriously. Where is the check. Like where is the fucking check. My people are drowning. My co-workers and family and friends have lost everything. My friends and co-workers that haven’t lost everything are taking off work (my boyfriend is taking PTO) to clean out people’s homes and rip out sheet rock and carpet. Give us money or GTFO. I don’t want to see you in your suit in AUGUST carrying boxes off a truck like you care about us. Louisiana is an incredible place. Baton Rouge is my home and I have watched people drop EVERYTHING to help one another during this time. The whole country seems to be floored by the generosity and love that our residents show each other during tough times, but to us this is normal. This is Louisiana. And you do not belong here.

You Republicans are trying to shove a flim-flam man down America's throat. He's yet another freakin Republican Chickenhawk. He runs his 'empire' on debt. And he has no freakin substance.

What's wrong with you Republicans? Even your mothers would be ashamed of you.

Apparently.

And this flabby republican has the nerve to ridicule women's bodies and grade them numerically.

This particular photo op was so offensive. Brings back memories of GW Bush after Katrina, another worthless human being.

choose clothes to disguise that sort of age related thickening of the torso and tushy. I prefer tunics, because a jacket is too hot, ESPECIALLY in the summer (and in hot, humid Louisiana!), but he probably keeps himself in *very* air-conditioned environments most if the time.

BTW, Hillary's pantsuits are her version of the business suit, and they serve the same multiple purposes as a suit for a man--to present as professional, to solve the "what to wear" (and what looks good together) problem from day to day, and to disguise any body shape issues.

As a woman traveling constantly, she also needed to find a way to avoid having to pack a dozen pairs of shoes for a wide range of outfuts. With pantsuits, she can probably get by with just a couple of pairs, or maybe three pairs at most, while still being able to enjoy variety by changing up the color of her pant suits without having to pack shoes to match each outfit.

In her case, it also is probably a response to all the RW idiots who mocked or criticized as inappropriate any dress, blouse, or other outfit she wore.

I love that she has come up with such an individualized, feminine, whimsical take on the dull men's business suit, and that she has so tied it to her own brand that no one else can claim it. My only complaint is that most of the time the pantsuits are the same color as the shell or blouse she wears with them. I think she should wear a different color blouse, and sometimes a patterned one, when the jacket and pants match.

I also like that she HAS added variety sometimes with patterned tunics over pants rather than matching jackets, pants, and shell or blouse each time, though the tunics that look too much like Kim Jong Un's should be retired.

The longer tunics might well have been brought in just for variety--or because of weight gain caused by the stress, lack of sleep, crappy food, and difficulty finding time for exercise while constantly traveling. I know that I turn to longer tunics when I gain a few pounds even beyond the extra I gained as I got older.

My favorite of her pantsuits is the one with the mandarin collar and pintucks on the front of the jacket, but worn with no blouse or shell. She has it in a few different colors, but the light greenish blue and, especially, the orange are the prettiest. I also like the deep red blouse with the soft tie at the neck.

Since she has worn the various pintuck jackets and the red necktied blouse frequently, I'm guessing they are her favorites, too.

Anyway, I think Hillary has, for the most part, found a clever, usually flattering way to solve the problem faced by professional women looking for an appropriate, flattering, yet feminine business "uniform" to parallel the male business suit, and she has done so in a whimsical way that works beautifully as a form of "branding." But since her branding has been so successful, she might well have made it impossible for other women to adopt her style. I hope not, though. I would love to see colorful pantsuits become available and accepted as a choice for professional women.

I won't fault the Yammering Yam, though, for wearing a suit or blazer all the time. There is so much else to criticize him for--including his ridiculously loooooing ties.

I've never heard of POURING sheetrock. When I've worked with sheetrock, it's been in panels that are hung by mounting it on studs or joists.

Am I missing something?

by stating how he's gotten his hands dirty by performing some manual labor. I doubt that he's done much, if any manual labor in his entire life. The fact that he thinks you POUR sheetrock is proof.
