Wall Street Journal Wants Republicans to Abandon Trump----Tomorrow's Edition

Breaking News:

<snip>They think he should make the election a referendum on Hillary Clinton, not on himself. And they’d like him to spend a little time each day—a half hour even—studying the issues he’ll need to understand if he becomes President.

Is that so hard? Apparently so. Mr. Trump prefers to watch the cable shows rather than read a briefing paper. He thinks the same shoot-from-the-lip style that won over a plurality of GOP primary voters can persuade other Republicans and independents...<snip>

i think it's too late in the game for it to really matter but we want him to stay in this and drag the whole GOP down with him.

I doubt he'd quit anyway, he's too egotistical.

Many people give this rag's op-eds gravitas, and they carry some weight. The donor class respects their opinion, especially big-money Wall Street. This could make it harder for Trump to fundraise. It can't help him in the polls, either.

"Donald Trump lashed out at the media on Sunday after more stories describing dysfunction inside his presidential campaign. “If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn’t put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20%,” Mr. Trump averred on Twitter.

Mr. Trump is right that most of the media want him to lose, but then that was also true of George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan..."

and sustain it through the election, fooling the electorate that he should be taken seriously as a potential president.

Then, if he wins, he can just go back to being his asshole self.

Is that about it?

that Trump will probably lose because he is running a shitty campaign. What they should be complaining about is that he is a shitty excuse for a human being who utterly lacks the intellect, knowledge and temperament to be president. For that matter, he isn't qualified to be the mayor of a small town in Idaho. His campaign is a disaster because he's a disaster.

Their masses have been so immersed in Fox Noise and similar propaganda for twenty years that they were plentiful enough to get Trump nominated. Who is Rupert Murdoch to question the mindset of a generation of right-wing robots that he programed in his very own lab?

Nothing in the post says the WSJ wants the GOP to dump Trump. Do you know if that is in the article?

It fails to mention citizens in most nations of the world want him to lose; although the Chinese find his ridiculous, divisive comments amusing.
