Oh, Do Let's Just All Shoot Each Other Over Every Little Thing, Shall We?

http://www.commondreams.org/further/2012/06/08-2

from CommonDreams:

Oh, Do Let's Just All Shoot Each Other Over Every Little Thing, Shall We?
by Abby Zimet

Sorry: It's one of those Idiots With Guns days. Raul Rodriguez, a retired firefighter in Texas, is on trial for killing elementary school teacher Kelly Danaher and wounding two others after he confronted them about their party's loud music. Rodriquez claims he was just “standing my ground” - albeit on their property, after he baited and threatened them. Incredibly, he videotaped the entire incident; even more incredibly, he seems to think the chilling evidence will help his case. Scary in countless ways.

“I’m telling you, I’m telling you, stop, I said stop right now or I will shoot you!"

Are there ANY gun owners out there any more who can manage to own them without threatening their family or friends or neighbors without due cause? I am beginning to wonder.

My dad owned guns but you never saw him with one except when he was hunting or going to target practice. He knew better than to use them to bully people, but then he was an old school gentleman and not some frothing-at-the-mouth Second Amendment obsessive.

IT IS NOT OK TO USE YOUR LEGAL OR ILLEGAL GUNS TO BULLY PEOPLE.

Specifically who is defending his "right to wave his gun around because he doesn't like something" ultimately leading to murder?

Give me a name.

Just saying "they" probably think this isn't good enough. Just like gun nuts saying "they" are trying to take your guns and give this country to the UN is not adequate.

who didn't specifically defend this guy, he merely said that Rodriquez "said" all the right things. Not necessarily that he was in the right.

But that leaves 1 out of 300 million. Or 3x10-7 percent.

I haven't seen that at all. Every state has laws against brandishing or bullying someone with a firearm.

If you have a link to what you claim, by all means, post it.

And should seek treatment, or break the addiction themselves.

The way to start breaking the chains is to get away from "friends" who love guns too.

entendre at play. The 'bang, bang, shoot, shoot,' tends to support the literal interpretation of 'gun' I think.

It's all subverting the "Happiness Is" bullshit from the time period, using the 'doo-wop' vocal style (think I have that right, but I could be wrong) to do it. Same way they use parody of Beach Boys' stylings in "Back in the USSR"

and lack of control.

There seem to be a lot of very angry men these days, particularly white men. They seem not to be able to control their anger at all. They snap, lash out, whatever you call it. In cartoons, smoke comes out of the top of the cartoon character's head.
