deferential to powerful males, check every fact before making a statement, speak softly, win by being demure and factual, there are other traits that can be filled in by more experienced men who really know how a woman seeking a high roll in government should be. I will leave it up to them.

(58,785 posts)As far as women go, there is of course no such thing as an "intelligent but noncontroversial" female candidate to the knuckledragging portion of the population -- as is being demonstrated so pathetically.
This election will truly be an advance for all (American) mankind, kicking and screaming insults or whatever.

I don't care what gender the candidate is - gender is irrelevant. I think a woman who is for the things I am against is equally as horrific as a man.

(1,499 posts)In this current system where with the greatest president in US history we have seen 2 steps back for every one step forward, ANY candidate MUST BE CONTROVERSIAL, must be honest, and must be deferential to the people.
For all the talk about our President being an essentially middle of the road leader (though that may well be true), he has moved this country forward most WHEN HE HAS BEEN CONTROVERSIAL.
