There is so much bile and venom being spewed today following the death of Justice Scalia. I have not read many of the posts on here so my comment isn't directed towards anyone in particular on DU. Elsewhere the comments are hateful celebrations as if these people have achieved some tremendous accomplishment. Its gross, disgusting and beyond dishonorable. On the right I see scummy self centered jerks who are only concerned with their precious seat on SCOTUS. The man wasn't even cold and they were out there demanding that the president refrain from appointing a successor. The candidates are using the opportunity to push their agenda and ideology. There is more than enough time for this but how about we let the man's family and friends mourn. I'm not opposed to people pointing out that they disagreed with him in their response to his passing. Hell, I didn't agree with Scalia often. To show no respect or integrity by celebrating and laughing at the man' death is sickening. Everyone should read the comments from his fellow justices on the supreme court; especially those written by the liberal wing. His best friend rarely agreed with him on major issues but make no mistake, she was devastated last night. Ginsburg is a hero to many on the left. She was his friend and colleague for decades. If you are incapable of finding respect for the man or his family, have consideration for her. She lost a cherished loved one.

--it is perfectly OK to express hatred for his actions, since that is the only way we know him.

not.

I knew he would end this way, I just didn't think I would live long enough to see it happen.
