2. While I agree with the intent

i.e. to take care of the planet, I see the joke as clumsy at best.

The other planets in the Solar System have their own problems and cannot sustain life, as far as we know.

Venus has runaway Greenhouse Effect
Mars is a wasteland
The rest are outside the Goldilocks Zone.

The damage we are doing is infinitely less, on a planetary scale, than the late heavy bombardment.

The worst thing we can do is make our own planet uninhabitable, just like the two in the cartoon.

Plus, and here is the kicker, it looks like we may be the first life form on the planet (or any planet so far) that has any chance to avoid celestial extinction events such as asteroid strikes.

Humans, as dangerous and threatening as they may seem, are the only hope the current biosphere has of lasting millions of years.
