Koch Group Offers Illinois Residents Free Food, Trips To Wisconsin To Support Governor Scott Walker

David Koch, co-owner of the Koch Industries petrochemical, manufacturing and commodity speculation fortune, hasn’t been shy about supporting Governor Scott Walker (R-WI), whose controversial union-busting agenda has forced a recall election this summer. Earlier this year, Koch told the Palm Beach Post: “We’re helping him, as we should. We’ve gotten pretty good at this over the years. We’ve spent a lot of money in Wisconsin. We’re going to spend more.”

Indeed, Koch has spent millions through the Republic Governors Association, through a network of attack-ad airing front groups, and financed a set of local Wisconsin think tanks to show support for Walker.

Now, it appears, Koch is spending money even in Illinois to help save Walker. Americans for Prosperity, a group founded by the Koch brothers, is advertising bus trips with free food for Illinois residents who commit to traveling to Wisconsin to help Walker:

The buses leave from Chicago, Homer Glen, and Palatine on June 2nd — just days before the Wisconsin recall election.

6. You know what would be funny...

Take the free trip but then work for the recall instead.
And then get a free ride back.

14. Oh sorry.

Not sure I could handle riding for hours on a bus full of Koch-heads anyway.

Sounds unbearable now that I think of it.

12. Since the last recall round the Walker people around

here were complaining about the Dems having people brought in from IL to vote illegally...the repubs have this great propensity to self-project...I wonder how many of these paid "helpers" will be voting and intimidating voters?

On edit: this is right on the IL / WI border.

15. l volunteer to help clog up the system!

If I can get 3 DUers who will ride the bus from Palatine to Milwaukee (or nearby), I'll pick you up and return you to Palatine.
Eat their food, collect their flyers/signs, I'll pick you up and return you to P'ville where we'll recycle their paper.
PM me if you're interested!

20. It might be simply a bus filled with unemployed people who need the money/food

A friend of mine got a temp job during the 2010 election that she didn't realize was working for the Republican candidate in her area. She left after the first day.

19. IIRC the right wing brought people to Florida to harass voters and poll workers in 2000.

Democrats should put observers at the polls in Wisconsin on election day.

22. We need a constitutional amendment that sets a clear limit for campaign financing.

The Koch Roaches are truly rotten evil scumbags and they can't continue to get away with this. What we're seeing in Wisconsin with Walker is just the tip of the iceberg. If it's a close election between Romney and Obama - expect the coming results will dwarf Bush V. Gore.
