Deputy Ben Fields a huge POS

[div class="excerpt"The 15-second video of sheriff's deputy Ben Fields slamming a student to the ground sent shivers down Carlos Martin's spine.

After all, he'd been manhandled by the beefy South Carolina cop the same way almost exactly 10 years before.

"I recognized him on the spot. I remembered how big he was," the 36-year-old Army veteran told the Daily News.

Martin had encountered Fields twice before: once in a Columbia, S.C., parking lot during an arrest and later in the courtroom, where Martin and his wife, Tashiana, filed suit against the hulking officer for civil rights violations.

They do not react. They look away. The are silent. They are frozen in place. That's what fear looks like!

So how many times have the those kids either witnessed, or were the victims, of similar acts of police violence in their school, their community before they are reduced to this stage of terror?

Teachers are mandatory reporters for child abuse.

This whole thing has just sickened me.

Wondering why we haven't heard from the young girl and/or her family. I so hope she has some sort of support system.

I can only think that it's fear. If you stay in place and avert your eyes and keep your head down they won't go after you. That body language is exactly what that is. The kid taking the video was taking a huge chance. But from other views of this scene I'm sure I saw another vantage point, so maybe 2 kids were filming this. In the other view you can see that the cops literally throws the girl quite a few feet and then goes after her. the video stops there.
