Nothing changed after Newtown. Nothing will change now.

Many will profess bewilderment on a) what caused the shooter to do what he did and b) how he was able to obtain a weapon. A lot will be said about improving mental health treatment availability.

And then others will point to this as clear and compelling evidence that every single adult American needs to go about openly carrying a semi-automatic handgun.

then back to the usual. They know people are tired of it and want a return to their regular programming..

When Columbine took place, everybody was absolutely shocked.

When Sandy Hook took place, it seemed like a cruel da ja vu.

Today I mentioned the Umpqua shooting to someone, and their response was a bored 'Yet another one, huh?'

We should be getting more outraged with every shooting, however it seems like mass shootings are becoming just another part of American life more and more with each one.
