We all know Betty White as a beloved Hollywood icon, but she’s also a staunch animal lover—she even convinced the producers of Golden Girls to feature pets on several episodes.

So, the veteran actress is even more pissed off than we are at Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist who heartlessly slaughtered Cecil the Lion near Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park

“You don’t want to hear some of the things I want to do to that man,” White, who sits on the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Zoo, told the AP. “It’s such a heartbreaker. You can’t even talk about it, and to see this king of the jungle and personifying it in every way, this gorgeous creature. How can somebody do that?”

Wow, we almost feel sorry for Walker. (Almost.) You do not want to cross Betty White.

It just makes me so sad and heartsick that this man, and other humans, actually think that trophy hunting is acceptable and "fun". In the dentist's statements, he states over and over that this is something he "loves" to do.
It is a barbaric practice and must be stopped. The desire to trophy hunt is proof of a demented and mentally ill mind, and the people who practice it should receive mandatory mental health care.

If Cecil's death is to have any meaning, it should be toward eradicating trophy hunting for the crime it is, or toward some other effective animal preservation and conservation efforts.
