People are saying the police are out of control. Absolutely wrong.

They are not under OUR control.

The 1% have them under perfect control.

Sheriff, deputy explain responses to Cheney shooting

<snip>

No one in the federal government has told Sheriff Ramon Salinas III and his deputies how to do their job, Salinas said. He was the one who decided not to go to the ranch to investigate until Sunday, the day after Vice President Cheney shot and wounded Austin, Texas, lawyer Harry Whittington on a quail hunt. Salinas based the decision on witness accounts and advice from people on the ranch he knows and trusts, including a former sheriff.

<snip>

Salinas called Ramiro Medellin Jr., a former sheriff who lives on Armstrong Ranch and works as a ranch hand. Medellin called Salinas back and confirmed the incident was an accident.

<snip>

"They don't treat us like a backdoor police department, like someone under them," Salinas said.

San Miguel said the case was not investigated as a criminal incident. He also noted that there were no 911 calls or radio transmissions between dispatchers and deputies because the calls went to the sheriff's home.

(snip)

3. how about the Police are out of our control

America is a police state because of a fusion of religious fundamentalism and corporate facism.

The police are totally out of control and we have to do something about it.

It is time to cut the police budgets nation wide and turn that money over to the public school system.

We have way to many police and not enough educators.

This movement must be national and local at the same time.

Stand up against the United Facist Police States of ameriKa.

4. "We have way to many police and not enough educators. "

That certainly makes a point.

Although maybe we turn the money over to those who are fighting poverty, so kids can go to school
ready to learn instead of hungry.

Might get more for our money.

5. True that.

Big bidness can scam you all day long and the powers that be will not GAF.
But just you try and squeeze a dime out of them and see what happens to you.

6. police are parasites no matter where you are

it doesnt make a difference if the they are or arent under "perfect" control. when they aren't under perfect control they're gangsters. when they are under control they are basically a cudgel to wield against the public. so, the point is, the world would be altogether better off without police. as in the occupation of policing.

14. Seems that way. Billionaire NYC Mayor Bloomberg refers to the NYPD as 'his army'.

I wish he would pay their salaries, they cost the tax-payers money that could be spent far more productively and the tax-payers were interested to hear that they work for him and his wealthy Wall St. buddies. And we sure have seen proof that he wasn't lying.

16. BINGO!

Economic power is political power. as long as Capitalism exists the police will NEVER be on our side, they will always be on the side who holds the power, the Capitalist Class.
