Conservative Super-PAC Prepares To Launch Major Ad Campaign To Blast Obama Over Jeremiah Wright

“The world is about to see Jeremiah Wright and understand his influence on Barack Obama for the first time in a big, attention-arresting way,” says the proposal, which was overseen by Fred Davis and commissioned by Joe Ricketts, the founder of the brokerage firm TD Ameritrade. Mr. Ricketts is increasingly putting his fortune to work in conservative politics.

The $10 million plan, one of several being studied by Mr. Ricketts, includes preparations for how to respond to the charges of race-baiting it envisions if it highlights Mr. Obama’s former ties to Mr. Wright, who espouses what is known as “black liberation theology.”

The group suggested hiring as a spokesman an “extremely literate conservative African-American” who can argue that Mr. Obama misled the nation by presenting himself as what the proposal calls a “metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln.”

A copy of a detailed advertising plan was obtained by The New York Times through a person not connected to the proposal who was alarmed by its tone. It is titled “The Defeat of Barack Hussein Obama: The Ricketts Plan to End His Spending for Good.”

Right Wingers keep thinking that Obama won because of race and not because of issues. They don't understand that people liked Obama because he "understood" regular people and was "more like them" and "cares" and had better policies. Obama was correct on the issues. That's why he won, not because people didn't know enough about him.

Oh yeah, that should do it. No one can accuse us of racism because we hired a black guy who can talk in complete sentences as our spokesman. You can't make up this stuff.

Mormon church that excluded blacks from the priesthood.

Romney was 22 -

Choice quote:

December 15, 1969: The LDS First Presidency issues another statement on the black issue, excerpts of which are included below:
To General Authorities, Regional Representatives of the Twelve, Stake Presidents, Mission Presidents, and Bishops.

Dear Brethren:

"In view of confusion that has arisen, it was decided at a meeting of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve to restate the position of the Church with regard to the Negro both in society and in the Church."

"A word of explanation concerning the position of the Church.

From the beginning of this dispensation, Joseph Smith and all succeeding presidents of the Church have taught that Negroes, while spirit children of a common Father, and the progeny of our earthly parents Adam and Eve, were not yet to receive the priesthood, for reasons which we believe are known to God, but which He has not made fully known to man."

"Our living prophet, President David O. McKay, has said, "The seeming discrimination by the Church toward the Negro is not something which originated with man; but goes back into the beginning with God...."Revelation assures us that this plan antedates man's mortal existence, extending back to man's pre-existent state." President McKay has also said, "Sometime in God's eternal plan, the Negro will be given the right to hold the priesthood.""

Faithfully your brethren,
The First Presidency

It took until 1978 to disavow this public declaration of his church. Romney would have been 31 at the time.

Go ahead and make Obama's day.
