I hope Obama is enjoying his "victory"

(10,946 posts)moves may end up backfiring on the Democrats in the 2016 election. I am a 100% Bernie Sanders supporter and feel like any other Democrat in the Presidential race would be agreeing to settle for the lesser of evils. There are some Democrats that I could easily support if I lived in their states but I am going to be a whole lot pickier about who I support. Having a D by a Candidate's name no longer guarantees to earn my vote.
I really wish that the Democrats would take a page of the Republican playbook. As much as I despise the Republican Party and Tea-Party crowd at least they dig in and fight tooth and nail for what they believe (as warped as it can be sometimes). While there are some totally awesome Democrats out there, the majority seem more interested in fighting for Corporations and getting re-elected then fighting for progressive causes and doing the right thing.

(8,175 posts)And you can bet if Bernie wins the primary (my fingers are crossed for him) that they will come out in droves to try not to let that "socialist" extremist take the white house. We will need to remain vigilant and get out the damn vote! And I mean lots of people who would normally just sleep through it. We cannot lose to the Republicans in 2016.

(23,730 posts)if they lose, they get the same check and their flacks blame everyone who isn't a pol for refusing to hand over their vote in exchange for a smack on the ass

(10,946 posts)Presidential race you have to look at the election like a bandaid.
A democrat in the WH is like pulling a bandaid off slowly. The pain is slow and drawn out because the Democrats just won't go to the mat for the people.
A republican in the WH is like yanking off the bandaid and it is painful and you know the whole thing will hurt because the Republicans, Corporations and 1%ers won't waste much time plowing us into the dirt.
No matter who is in the WH it seems like ultimately we will be plowed into to ground and it is only a matter of how long it will take.

(23,855 posts)if a republican pulls the bandage off fast, they're still doing it over the same 4 or 8 year period that the Democrat uses to pull it off slowly

(18,998 posts)The real important task is the TPP and the GOP attacking the other things is just to help him get that passed...triangulation is the name of the game.

(15,435 posts)right now that really shouldn't be posted anywhere. I WILL support Bernie with much more fervor now and will make NO BONES about how I feel about far too many "so called" Democrats!
DISGUSTING stab in the back! I've tried for so many years to deal with blow after blow, thought sometimes we might see some light, but I no longer want to feel anything! Right now McConnell & Boehner are PRAISING the man THEY HATE!
I don't think I've ever felt this much FURY!!

Most of the site probably agrees with you.

(4,106 posts)so betrayed and so stupid as to believe he would be different. I see no hope no future for us unless Bernie wins and I know there are plans to stop that. All Barrack seems to care about is some legacy he thinks he will have.
