Sure he did. But, as I remember, the value of endorsement from Trump was itself, controversial. immoderate Jun 2015 #20

A normal candidate has finite resources (money). When a normal candidate loses a few primaries the money dries up quickly; donors take a walk, the media ignores you and primary voters start thinking of you as a fringe candidate with no chance, so they go elsewhere. It's a self-perpetuating cycle.

But if you have the money of Trump, you can overcome all that if you are willing to spend lavishly. Money can prop you up to make you look like a bigger candidate than you really are.

He should pull a WWE stunt and make the Republican nominee kiss his ass in return for his endorsement.

Trump blew the announcement of his endorsement into an "awards ceremony." But the implied condescension, on Trump's part, in your post, indicates you get what I mean.

I seriously doubt Trump would do better in the general election. I don't see a billionaire winning the presidency with things the way they are.

he will fail. He said he can't play Lucy snatching the football from Charlie Brown anymore. This time he has to play the game all the way through and he will lose.

I think he will probably snatch the ball again because he's too stupid to see it will end his being in the game in the future.
