that purportedly showed Middle Easterners "celebrating" the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9-11, when in actuality it was a file video of people celebrating a local festival.

especially since the underlying point on the Venezuelan economy is perfectly valid, and it shouldn't be too difficult to demonstrate. Just because illustrative photos are hard to find doesn't mean you use a fake one.

Good lesson on being extremely skeptical of any representation of Venezuela you see in the media. Lots of anti-government propaganda out there and unfortunately it's been very effective in terms of influencing public opinion in the US.

but it used to be a right-wing site.

I've never followed it before or after the change, so I don't know for sure.
