David Gregory: "Saying Romney's not one of us assumes Obama cornered the market on being one of us"
MSNBC's Early Morning Circle Jerk© featuring Chuck "White House Soup Of The Day" Todd and David "MC Karl Rove" Gregory.
They're discussing the Romney prep school stuff, and Todd said that the fact that these incidents happened in prep school magnified "prep school," which most of us did not attend, and further paints Romney as not one of us." Gregory looked as if his morning bran muffin had not yet taken effect and shook his head, saying "I'm not sure about that. Saying Romney's not one of us assumes Obama cornered the market on being one of us" Er...HUH? ![]()

9. And BELIEVE IT OR NOT (and I know you will believe it)...
|
...NO ONE in the "mainstream media" has connected the dots as you just have.
It's all about "class warfare" and Romney being bad because he went to prep school, which only feeds his whole "I'm not going to apologize for being professional" pity party. News Flash...there ARE people who attend prep school and turn out to be fine adults. The "Lord of the Flies" assholes (which someone used to define Romney during those years during an MSNBC conversation yesterday) are the ones who seem to catch the headlines. The ones who attend prep school, excel in their studies, go out into the world and do something productive with their lives arent "newsworthy." I don't "hate all rich people," and I don't know anyone who does. On the other hand, I went to Menlo-Atherton High School...Meg Whitman lives in Atherton...and I knew more than my share of entitled little pricks who could have easily been Mitt Romney. I also spent the first two years of high school in a middle-to-lower class Massachusetts town. The son of the local dentist was the first kid to grow out his hair to shoulder length, smoke cigarettes, drink, get high...all of this in his freshman year. The "Mitt Romneys" from the bad side of town...about 8 of them...brought scissors to gym class one day, held the kid down on the locker room floor, and started chopping. That's ONE story...I could write a book on bullying if I wanted to, and I could fill several volumes with what happened in those two years of high school, before I moved to California in my Junior year, alone. Mitt Romney isn't an asshole because he's rich, Mitt Romney is an asshole because he is an asshole. If he lost EVERY PENNY tomorrow, he'd be an asshole who lost every penny. So it all conveniently fits into the big picture if the media reports that prep school asshole Mitt Romney bullied his fellow students and giggled uncontrollably as legally blind teachers walked into closed doors that he pretended to hold open for him. He can respond by saying Obama hates success in America. I'm not willing to play that game, Mitt. I'm willing to leave your finances out of it. You're an asshole, with or without money. Feel better? |

10. It's got a layer of slime over it...
|
...right after the segment, before going to commercial break, Todd did his "soup of the day"...
...."And today's White House Soup of the Day...oh, come ON now, it's too COLD for this...GAZPACHO...you've got to wait at least another couple of months, guys." It's like Todd lives in a little Chuck Todd World bubble, where he just goes from talking point to talking point to talking point and then talks about soup. I posted something from Martin Bashir's show yesterday and several DUers were quick to step up and say how much they admire his reporting style. It's true...you watch a guy like Bashir and then watch a guy like Todd and it's almost impossible to believe that they hold down the same job. |

1. Rmoney's NOT one of us. How hard is that for you to comprehend?
2. The President DOES have the market cornered on being one of us. Why? Becuase HE IS ONE OF US. If you don't get that, Mr. Gregory, wake up in November and see how wrong you can possibly be. Bake |

28. Gregory is even more harmful than Rush Limbaugh
|
Everyone knows Limbaugh is a big crank who says anything to get a rise out the psychos who tune in to hear an over-the-top comment. Gregory has been given the veneer of credibility and judicious interviewing by being hired to host a show supposedly dedicated to real journalism. Gregory never comes out and repeats the right wing talking points but he gets the same points across every week with subtlety. He's a disgrace. He really needs to be taken off the air.
