In the latest twist involving child molester Josh Duggar and the scandalous cover-up of his perverse crimes by his parents, their church, and Arkansas GOP politicians, a judge appointed by Duggar-supporting Mike Huckabee allegedly ordered the destroying of the police report against Josh Duggar right after the case came to light this week.
Springdale (AR) Police spokesman Scott Lewis told the AP that he was ordered to destroy the report by Judge Stacey Zimmerman, who is the Juvenile Judge of Madison and Washington county, where the crime took place. Zimmerman so happens to have been appointed by Bible-thumping Duggar-supporting Mike Huckabee to two different positions while he was the governor of the state.
According to Lewis:
The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record. As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesnt exist.
Lewis also said that similar cases are kept indefinitely. In other words, it appears that a cover-up is taking place, perhaps spearheaded by Arkansas Republicans who have been intertwined with the Duggar family over the years.

(5,105 posts)It's just part of the way some unhinged idiots raise their children without teaching them about the real world, sex, and boundaries, though I suspect no teaching would get through to someone who wants to commit incest with his own sister.

(11,065 posts)who is still a minor as she stated she was in fear of her identity being revealed by the record remaining. I have no problem with that, and don't know why anyone else would. There is no point whatsoever for the record to remain as there is no justice to be had and was none at the time the report and investigation was taken as it was already past the statute of limitations at that time. The record is ALREADY out in the public domain now ANYWAY, and despite redactions, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out at least who the victim sisters are already. There is no earthly reason for the record to remain as there is no possible justice to be had from it. All that it can be used for is to identify who the victims are, and that's no one's business.
Appointee of Huckaboob or not, I think the judge made the most reasonable decision by destroying a record that can do NOTHING other than identify the victims and did order it destroyed for the peace of mind of the victim that requested it be destroyed. Not that it matters anyway since a redacted version is already in the public domain and simple to identify at least 4 of the 5 victims, the accused and the parents of the accused and 4 of the 5 victims. Obviously, more information should have been redacted than was as it was a simple thing to figure out the identities of all of those people. Redacting information is SUPPOSED to keep that from being possible particularly the identities of the victims of a sexual crime.
I'm not even sure if legally the investigation of 2006 which was passed the statute of limitations was even appropriate to have been done, and as I understand it it was because of that that the investigation was stopped. However, I'm still glad that it was done since no investigation had been done previously due to the cover-up by the family in order to find out if any of the victims wanted to be removed from the home, wanted appropriate counseling, etc.
Further, when it's said that similar other abuse incident records were not normally destroyed is that because they were reported before the statute of limitations ran out and/or because no victim requested the record be destroyed, and/or matters of justice were being or had been undertaken or what?
Destroying the record means absolutely nothing whatsoever. There IS no justice to be had anymore and at the time the investigation occurred the statute of limitations had already passed. The record is already out in the public domain anyway, and is so poorly redacted that almost every single person involved whether the parents, the accused or all save one of the victims is easily identifiable. Destroying it after that occurred does absolutely nothing whatsoever other than possibly give one of the victims who requested it be destroyed (which was the entire reason for the judge to make any judgment in the first place) some measure of peace of mind. I can't fathom why anyone would have a problem with that. After all, it is the VICTIMS of the abuse that are most important here, and thanks to the cover-up by the parents it is FAR too late for any sort of justice to come from that record and too late even at the time it was reported.
