Ask and ye shall receive.

Postal customers in the Omaha-Council Bluffs area donated more than 225,000 pounds of food for area pantries May 9 during the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 23rd Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.

Donations more than doubled 2014’s collection of 98,000 pounds, organizers said.

Food drive coordinator Andrea Malena said donations continued to trickle through the week, from postal customers who continued to place nonperishable food near their mailboxes after the Saturday drive.

But did they have to use plastic bags? I was sort of pissed seeing that in my mailbox. I put mine in a cloth bag as a reminder to the post office for next year.
