Take the resources from a resource rich nation

tariff free. Ship them to a labor rich nation for them to be processed, then ship them right back to the people that handed over the resources, tariff free, while preventing their ability to process said goods themselves.

Does that sound familiar?

multi-national corporations. How they kept their headquarters in the developed nations but took their factories to the cheapest labor countries with the least environmental laws and sold in the nations that had the lowest tariffs and the richest buyers. I think there should also be a clause about keeping their profits in the Cayman Islands to avoid paying taxes.

In other words if they are people they are not good people.

Unfortunately I cannot find the book that I copied it into.

this is a little like (absent) taxation without representation since we hand over our resources with no tariffs and get back finished product without tariffs.

See where I'm going with that?
