Meet Hillary Clinton’s Official Campaign Photographer (Pic Heavy)

It’s Sept. 28, 1995, and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat are getting ready to make history by signing the Oslo II Accord expanding Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank. Flanked by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, King Hussein of Jordan and U.S. President Bill Clinton, they wait in a hallway at the White House. One photographer, Barbary Kinney, is here to witness the scene. As four of the men adjust, in concert, their ties, she presses her shutter, capturing the incongruous behind-the-scenes ritual that will earn her, a few months later, a World Press Photo prize, one of the most prestigious photojournalism awards.

For the past 20 years, Kinney, an Indiana-born photographer who’s worked for USA Today, Reuters and the Seattle Times, has been following the Clintons — from Bill’s years in the White House, to Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign, to Chelsea’s wedding. Along the way, she has gained unprecedented access to the leading family in Democratic politics.

Just stunning, and historically significant.

Like that picture if the presidents and Jimmy Carter was off to the side. Love the Carters I am probably over sensitive.

...and is turned away from them all. Probably means nothing, but is somewhat like the painting "The Last Supper:" so much can be read into the dynamism of the postures and expressions of the subjects.

I, too, harbor a deep love and appreciation of the Carters, especially after having lived through their ( notice I said, "their!" ) administration. They were Washington outsiders, and as such snubbed by most Beltway insiders and elites. The Carters were prescient about so many things...and the Carters' examples of public service in their lives after the presidency are praiseworthy.

For sure, it's known that Nancy and Babs didn't lose love over each other, and Nancy is turned away from *all* of the women with utter boredom (and disdain?) since her charms are for the boys, the boys where the power is only, and not for hanging with the ladies.

Then there are the two being solicitous or deferential, Hillary with Lady Bird and Betty with Babs. I see Hillary sincerely honoring Lady Bird as a significantly historical figure. I see FORD as being subservient to Babs.

The always lone Rosalynn (and Jimmy) make me ache for them. Lady Bird and Babs are in their own skins: Lady Bird accepts the petitioning from scores of years of due diligence. Babs has the power in genetic mechanics.

That said, I wonder who took this/below pic that I really like:

Great pics. I especially like the one with all of the first ladies---it's very unique! I also think the picture taken in Puerto Rico is very cool and unscripted.

the brilliant Pete Souza .. a great match.

"Souza covered Obama's arrival to the Senate in 2005 and met him for the first time.."

"Peter J. Souza (born December 31, 1954)[1][2] is an American photojournalist, the current Chief Official White House photographer for President Barack Obama and the director of the White House Photography Office."

Had same feeling watching Obama speak at WHC dinner, where he BLEW everybody away.

The wealth, power, opulence, privilege on display by any and all of them....

I want her to beat the cons of course.

This isnt about that

I am just getting uncomfortable and a little bit nervous
