Ever worked with anyone who was not interested in receiving increased wages and better benefits?

I did. Worked at a union factory too. But when a strike vote was taken there was invariably a certain percentage who would vote against going on strike.

I knew a few guys who felt this way. Some just didn't like any type of stressful events. And going on strike was definitely stressful. We had others who were already financially well off either by having wealthy parents, a wealthy spouse, or having a successful business on the side.

But I just couldn't get some of them to understand the collective aspect of receiving higher wages. Tried explaining to them that many of their fellow workers weren't as well off as they were and actually needed that wage increase to keep up with their cost of living. Went in one ear and out the other.

That is just a couple of the many reasons that some of the people I worked with never wanted a wage increase. Anyone else ever run across someone who didn't want better wages?

take the risk of speaking up against management. They could get put on the 'shit list' if they speak up. Wish we did have union.
