Report: FBI And Grand Jury Investigating 'Downton Abbey' Congressman

The FBI and federal prosecutors in Illinois are looking into whether disgraced "Downton Abbey" Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) broke the law with his use of campaign funds, CNN reported Friday.

The FBI has already begun delivering subpoenas for testimony before a grand jury in Springfield, Ill., anonymous sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Schock said Tuesday that he would resign from Congress effective March 31.

The abrupt announcement came after weeks of media reports detailing lavish purchases, including $40,000 in "Downton Abbey" office decor and $24,000 on tickets to various events and concerts, that were expensed either to Schock's official House and campaign accounts or to or groups affiliated with the congressman.

Politico reported that Schock announced his resignation after it made inquiries into his billing taxpayers for excessive mileage reimbursement on his personal car.

Heard him on the news trying to defend his offspring. If he continues to "help", his son is probably going to end up in prison. Strange family dynamics, IMO.

If he did something illegal, I sure hope he's busted for it. I hate the idea of him getting a pension, too.
