I’m Jewish and have such a difficult time with Right Wing Jews.

I was always brought up to think that people of our faith were always on the right side of social/political issues.. I realize most of the reasons many of our faith have embraced solid core right wing issues, however today I was roving through various right wing sites today, to see the “facts” on how Obama has been sending political teams into Israel in order to defeat Bibi..

Because we all know how our President is so not politically savvy...

Anyway I’m posting this not so much to attack but rather just out of disappointment ..

Of all the people on the planet, the Jews have the moral authority to make a difference in regards to human rights worldwide. Instead, they have had 60 years to make some peace with their neighbors in the Mideast, they have created an occupied ghetto for their closest relations, and they have become militarily reliant on the largest empire in the history of the world.
At a time when the world needs moral guidance and examples of good will they are not showing the slightest interest in what could be their greatest calling in history.

Have we learned N O T H I N G from the past?

Moral authority for some reason didn't work in Germany.
Not doing to well in Europe right now.

Funny how jews are singled out for "morality" when they defend themselves.

I'm never going to drink that Kool-Aid... never.

The world loves jews....after they are dead.

NEVER AGAIN.

I support Israel's right to exist, and do not condone any form of terrorism or political violence. But if you look at Israel vs. Palestine over the last decades, the body count is far from symmetrical.

My left wing friends are actually for divestment (BDS) and a two-state solution. My right wing friends are for attacking ISIS, stopping negotiations with Iran, and sticking up for Bibi. As a non-Jew, I don't always know what to make of the situation. I wish there were a more comprehensive view and not just "sides."

I know it has led to many issues, including the non-hiring of one Stephen Salaita at University of Illinois, but how is BDS different from supporting the cause for justice in Palestine?

because I think it's completely ineffective when it comes to getting what it's seeking. But then I think the problems the Palestinians have are largely their own fault and the fault of those they've chosen as leaders. I honestly used to have a lot more sympathy but the suicide bombings and later, the rocket attacks have completely chipped away at that sympathy. Gazans voting in a terrorist organization to lead them was the final straw. It's certainly not Israel's fault that their choice was between corruption and terrorism. The Palestinians have been used as pawns by their own leaders as well as most of the countries that proclaim sympathy for them.

who are very liberal when it comes to domestic US politics, and on the extreme right when it comes to Israeli politics (Anthony Weiner comes to mind as an example).

And that article seems to be a bit silly; Israel has strict laws about foreign campaign contributions (they're legal for primaries, but not for general elections); if some Israeli political group looks to hire American campaign consultants, for instance, I don't see that as being "Obama runs a campaign to defeat Netanyahu" (the UK Labour Party has hired David Axelrod as a consultant, I haven't seen anything in the news about "Obama masterminds plan to take down Cameron", because it's absurd).

Am I a Jew because I was born to a Jewish Mother? Or because I practice Judaism? Since I don't practice any religion am I really a Jew? Am I only a Jew if I agree with Israel's policies on Palestine? If I don't does that make me a Muslim?

They just get all fucking confused.
