http://www.ifyouonlynews.com/humor/canadian-sniper-brilliantly-parodies-american-sniper-in-two-minutes-video/Recently, many Americans have been taking sides on the movie American Sniper. Basically, the right loves it, and the left hates it. Some on the right went apoplectic after the film failed to take home any major honors from last Sundays Oscars. But, leave it to our Canadian cousins to approach American Sniper with a sense of perspective.
The comedy team of Jeff Ayars and Dan Rosen, who are known as Cannibal Milkshake, envisioned what American Sniper would look like if it had been set in Canada. The result is a parody trailer that is sure to anger those Americans who are treating American Sniper as some sort of statement on the great American warrior. But, for the rest of us, its just funny....
Its not clear yet what American defenders of Clint Eastwoods film will have to say about the parody; Americans are notorious for not noticing what goes on north of our border, so most may not even be aware that Canadian Sniper exists. But, a number of posters on the CBC comment thread are critical of both Chris Kyle, and American Sniper.

(23,156 posts)I haven't seen the American Sniper movie, and don't intend to, so I haven't a clue how close the parody is, but I loved it.
Also, "Nominated for six Canadian Bacon Awards". If you haven't gotten around to seeing the movie Canadian Bacon, please do so asap.

(5,376 posts)Thanks for posting this video. I declare it priceless! Actually, I can't stop laughing...Haven't seen American Sniper, and I'm guessing I'd better not. The audience would doubtless drum me outa the theater.

(4,297 posts)Pairs of soldiers were going door to door, carrying baskets between them. As we opened the door, they smiled shyly and said politely, "Hello, we're from the Canadian Army, and we've come to loot. Have you anything to contribute?"

(7,596 posts)But, geez, if it's really similar to this than the movie is even MORE of a revolting propaganda piece than I thought. Is that "Batman"-like music in the actual trailer?
