3. Teddy Roosevelt loved America's working class more than many Democratic Party politicians now.

ESPECIALLY more than the Blue Dogs.

I would put Bernie Sanders to the left of Roosevelt because of Roosevelt's views on native American land ownership and a few other issues. However, Roosevelt was pretty liberal for his time and by today's standards he's a Socialist by Republican standards.

And to think this guy was a Republican.
