Poll: Do you think this guy that the CIA tortured really did all these things he confessed to?

Now keep in mind when he was interrogated about the courier who actually led to bin Laden he lied about that. He lied about the bin Laden courier while the CIA was using the same torture techniques they used to get this list.

1. I think he is padding his resume quite a bit...

even if he isn't any information obtained by torture is suspect. If it was a criminal case rather than a terrorist case, I believe the confession would be thrown out. Torture is stupid, it doesn't work. That being said, he probably did something and we should find out what if that is at all possible after the well has been poisoned. My theory is he padded his resume for pride as much as to make the torture stop.

2. It's been stated by many experts that torture does not work, the victim will tell you what you

want to hear and nothing more.

3. That list is not complete

In addition to claiming responsibility for every major terror plot over the past dozen years, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed confessed to being the one who...

* threw the overalls in Mrs. Murphy's chowder

* put the bomp in the bomp bah bomp bah bomp (he may have also put the ram in the rama lama ding dong)

* let the dogs out

* shot the sheriff (but he did not shoot the deputy)

* stole Austin Powers' mojo

* put the lime in the coconut

* wrote the Book of Love

5. Wouldn't even need to get to the torture part for me

Just show me a bucket of water and a towel and I bet I could come up with a list twice that long in a jiffy.

16. You & me, both!

I couldn't even imagine being in a CIA hotseat, but I think I'd get real agreeable, mighty quick. And if they ever shipped me off to one of those "black sites", I haven't a doubt that I'd be rendered a yammering blabbermouth before they even got me off the plane!

Ask any kid that's been physically abused, most know exactly when they should nod "yes" and when they should not. Anything to stop the hurt.

8. I refuse, on principle, to believe or accept information gained under torture. That's collaboration

The court used to call it the "fruits of the poisonous tree" doctrine, which held that authorities may not profit from information gathered illegally, no matter what it cost to information legally gathered. The purpose was to EFFECTIVELY prohibit illegal behavior by making it unprofitable even if it was not prosecuted.

11. You can not act on evidence obtained by torture

or I should say sane people won't believe information obtained by torture as anything except to stop the torture. Not many people will not talk when tortured and the ones who do will say anything they think you want to know.

12. he very well could have

been "involved" in all of these, meaning he was aware of them or in a group when they were discussed. Using torture to get the info means that you cannot believe anything he said.

If the cost of not using torture is we face another major terrorist attack, I think it is one we should pay.

14. You forgot the Lindbergh kidnapping

--also possible involvement in the slayings of Jon Benet Ramsey and Albus Dumbledore. He might also have been involved in putting the Ram in the Ramalamadingdong. Not to mention writing The Book of Love.
