Keith has a sad re Kimmel...

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/keith-olbermann-jimmy-kimmel-whcd-bill-oreilly-white-house-correspondents-association-dinner-317874

Keith Olbermann
The ousted Current TV host was not amused by Kimmel's jokes; compares him to Bill O'Reilly.

Jimmy Kimmel's half-hour speech at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner Saturday evening had a few targets -- Kim Kardashian, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Lindsay Lohan and Mitt Romney, to name a few -- but it seems not everyone can take a joke.

One of the best jokes of the night was Kimmel's quips about recently ousted Current TV host Keith Olbermann.

"Alright, itís time for the fun part of the evening," Kimmel said. "Iíd like everyone to look under your seats. Under each one you will find a copy of Keith Olbermannís resume. Is Keith here tonight? Limo wouldnít pick him up? The thing about Keith Olbermann is heís so likable."

"Al Gore launched Current TV in 2005 and it took off like a North Korean rocket," Kimmel continued. "To be honest, I didnít even know Current TV was still on the air, but then I donít get channel a million."

B - Stop invoking O'Reilly's name in every other sentence. It's really creepy.

of him for being unemployed?
Sorry, the guy made millions a year while a MSNBC (and while I don't know what he made before that at ESPN, my guess it was substantial). He made even more during his time at Current. I think he'll manage during his unemployment and doesn't need our sympathy.

KO is unemployed in the same way that Romney has been "unemployed." It doesn't really count, I don't think, if you have tens of millions of dollars. I feel zero sympathy for a multi-millionaire losing a job.

61. Supposedly his net worth is about $35 million.

I've never said he's not human, but I wouldn't consider someone with 35 million dollars being unemployed worthy of any sympathy for their financial situation. If he can't live out the rest of his life in luxury with the money he has now, he's doing something wrong.

35. Narcissists can't tolerate anyone making a joke at their expense. If someone

held a roast for Keith Olbermann, Keith would get up and storm out after the first joke. Then he'd sue the people who sponsored the event.

39. Who is being narcissistic when it comes to insulting "jokes" depends on the situation

Generally speaking, narcissists are the people who package insults inside of a "joke" and then when the subject of said "joke" finds it hurtful and complains , the subject is accused of having no sense of humor and being "too sensitive". But the real problem is that the narcissist who packaged the insult inside of a joke is not sensitive enough or they wouldn't be insulting someone and expecting to get away with it. Besides narcissists, they're also called sociopaths and and just plain verbal abusers. They're the ones bullying and taunting other kids on the playground or the man who makes hurtful jokes about his wife - TO his wife, either when they're alone or in front of other people - or the employer who taunts an employee with insulting "jokes". In these cases, such behavior is unacceptable and the "jokester" needs to learn some sensitivity.

But -- Keith, being a public figure, might expect that sometimes he will be 'roasted' at events like that one and it would in that case, be best to let it roll off his back and remain silent or simply make a glib remark about it and move on. Kimmel is a comedian. That's what he does. He insults people. It's his job. And for most comedians, it's nothing personal against those they joke about. It's just what they do. Most people understand that. Olbermann should too. Is he being narcissistic about this? Yes.

However in personal relationships - those among family, friends, employers and partners, as I stated above, the narcissists are the ones doing the insulting (sometimes packaged as a "joke") - they are the ones exhibiting cruel and insensitive behavior and expecting to get away with it. And in those cases, they absolutely should not be given a pass. At that point, it's personal - and there's the difference. Kimmel's remarks about Olbermann - probably were not personal. I doubt the two have ever met.

So, who the narcissist is when it comes to these insults packaged as "jokes" - depends on the situation and whether it's truly meant to be personal or not. It isn't always as you stated it. To say that it is - is to condone some people's abusive behavior - behavior that should not be tolerated in many cases.

I don't have much pity for Keith Olbermann. He largely is responsible for being where he is. He's brilliant, but not the easiest person to get along with, obviously. And he has plenty of money to stay afloat, retire or do whatever he wants to do at this point (except perhaps have anything but his very own news/commentary program at this point).

41. It's true that narcissists can be very

snide and verbally abusive. But like you said, that was a roast, and it wasn't even that bad of a joke, nor was it a personal attack. It reminds me of when Donald Trump couldn't take the jokes about him last year. And Donald is also extremely narcissistic and therefore thin-skinned. As an aside, Olbermann was very good at lampooning people when he had his show. He was brilliant with his attacks.

Olbermann's work history points to him being an insufferable narcissist. Of course that's just my opinion of him. But every time a new story comes out about him, it supports my theory that he's a narcissist.

And Kimmel's performance was extremely uneven and the "jokes" very hit or miss.

Put it this way: If Fox fired O'Reilly and Kimmel make those jokes about him, or if Clear Channel tossed Rush and those jokes used his name....I would still find them tasteless.
