4. This should be mandatory for all professional sports franchises

I remember going to see the Bulls when Michael Jordan was still playing and looking around outside the stadium and realizing most if not all the kids who lived in the area could never afford a ticket to go to a Bulls game right in their own neighborhood.

That realization was pretty depressing.

13. The chances of something like this becoming mandatory for all franchises

are probably even slimmer than them getting rid of the NFL blackout rule.

5. edit: Oh, the money. I thought the poor little tykes were going to go to games.

Which would be one way of reducing class sizes...

9. very cool indeed ...

I don't think anything like this happened when Al Davis was alive. For sure Oakland could use the money!

12. That's a great idea!

I think they are the only ones planning on doing something like this.
Maybe it'll catch on, let's hope.

17. It's not the tickets themselves, it's the money.

Every season ticket purchased and paid in full between May 1 and June 30 will have 10 percent of its gross donated to the Oakland public schools. With season tickets starting at $260 a piece and costing as much as $1,510, the donation to the schools can be substantial.

There seems to be some confusion above...
