Gibbs: Romney’s Message Is ‘You Didn’t Clean Up Our Mess Fast Enough’

Gibbs: Romney’s Message Is ‘You Didn’t Clean Up Our Mess Fast Enough’

Top Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs said on Meet the Press Sunday that the “biggest idea” of Obama’s reelection campaign would be a message of continuing “moving in the right direction of fixing this economy.”

“We know this about Mitt Romney,” Gibbs said, “he’s not a job creator. When he was governor of Massachusetts, they were 47th out of 50 in job creation. His experiences in downsizing and outsourcing jobs and bankrupting companies and walking away with a lot of money for himself. His economic ideas are the failed economic ideas that we tried for eight years.”

Gibbs responded to another question about women voters and the economy, saying, “David, their message is: You didn’t clean up our mess fast enough.”

Yeah, Republicans are pushing the Bush policies (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002599725) with the Ryan plan thrown in.

Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover really messed everything up in the 1920's. It was the first time they tried "trickle-down" by cutting tax rates into the 20% range. It took FDR and WWII to clean up that mess. Ike wasn't too bad but he did leave Vietnam and the Bay of Pigs in JFK's and LBJ's laps. Then Nixon and Ford left the residual distrust of Watergate and a whole truckload of WIN buttons (Whip Inflation Now) behind for Jimmy Carter to clean up. Then Reagan and Bush I quadrupled the national debt and left a flat economy for Bill Clinton to clean up. Then George W Bush ran through the Democratic surplus and then proceeded to double the national debt again and left an economy in tatters, the worst since Hoover and Coolidge. Now Obama is trying to clean up that mess. Does anyone really believe that Mitt is not ready to make another big mess on the floor??
