I was up there yesterday and today and there were robins everywhere. We never even see those south of there in the valley where I live for another month usually. We will probably see winter come back and slam us though. I've driven in driving snow storms in the middle of April. Those usually just come down and it melts though. That late it never amounts to snow packed roads.

Beautiful sunny day today about 55 degrees. Supposed to be 60 tomorrow. Warmest January on record.

It appears that the climate change definitions are upon us -- warmer where warm and colder were cold. Moving the boundaries of the extremes.

All of you hit by the cold weather -- stay warm, take care of yourselves AND your pets.

So far it's been a mild winter, and I recently took advantage of cheap $2.17 a gallon heating oil to put 250 gallons into my then near empty tank. I don't know if that's enough to get me through the winter.

But it remains relatively mild here in rural west Michigan, with lots of sun and very little snow. Yup! It's still cold, but we've only been below zero (F) a couple of nights. That's unusual here in January.

Stay warm DUers. Keep the fires lit and find somebody to cuddle with.

I'm well aware of the few feet we had a bout 5 years ago, and another big one reported in 1994, but for the most part, we seem to be in more of a sweet spot than further East, certainly upstate (above I-80).

Once again the weather idiot lied to me and told me Sunday evening that the nasty would start in a few hours. Until just recently we only had about and 1/8 of an inch but the winds have started up though they certainly aren't gusting, and it seems to be snowing ever so lightly now. I was out with the dog a couple of hours ago and noticed that the sky had huge clear breaks in the clouds. Supposedly we're to be getting 8-12 inches from now until tomorrow morning. I really don't know what to think though since until the afternoon on Sunday they'd been saying only 2-4 inches starting Monday night, then they suddenly changed it to 8-12 and starting Sunday night. We did get an every so light dusting last night, but that was it. Then today we got this 1/8 inch, and nothing much is happening at the moment.

Yoshi had a great time tasting everyone's snow though. He likes to trot along the sidewalk and drag his tongue through the snow. I wonder what people think his tongue prints are.
