at an anti Prop 8 rally. He might have been 10, at most.

As sad and absurd as it was, I couldn't help but laugh: in a crowd of mostly gay people the poor dumb kid picks the token straight girl to call names.

In a way I was glad: I have no history with that word, it does me no harm. If you have to yell it, kid, yell it at me.

I hope he breaks free of his family and his church soon, he must be almost grown by now.

7. I remember seeing one of these big-mouthed "child preachers" on a daytime talk show...

The kid was being asked serious questions about doctrine, who gets "saved" and who doesn't, and the kid launched into his yelling spiel.
It was obvious the questions were raising doubts, so the kid resorted to the chants he had been taught to recite.
