I want our actions to tell every child in every neighborhood, your life matters, and we are committed to improving your life chances - as committed as we are to working on behalf of our own kids. I want future generations to know that we are a people who see our differences as a great gift, that were a people who value the dignity and worth of every citizen -- man and woman, young and old, black and white, Latino, Asian, immigrant, Native American, gay, straight, Americans with mental illness or physical disability. Everybody matters. I want them to grow up in a country that shows the world what we still know to be true: that we are still more than a collection of red states and blue states; that we are the United States of America.

(135,425 posts)If you are living with granny, or in Auntie's basement apartment, you are now considered "homeless" by those looking for federal funding/grant money. If you are living in "temporary shelter" -- for example, a hotel room, often in a facility largely given over to families without permanent housing--you are regarded as homeless.
So yeah, whatever. When I was a kid, if you lived with your grandma, you lived with your grandma. That was your home. It didn't make you homeless if a relative took you into their home--it made you "living with a relative" and maybe your parent(s) weren't thrilled, but you had a roof over your head. If you lived in a hotel or a short-term rental, you lived in a crappy situation, but you also had a roof over your head, a place to receive mail.
That said, if grant money depends on counting "homelessness" as having to live with relatives, or in a transitional housing situation, then that's the new definition.
Easy to make those figures go way up when you fiddle with the definitions. This is touched upon deep in your source:
You can see how the topic is wrestled to the ground (if your home is "inadequate" then you can be counted as homeless) here:
http://www.homelesschildrenamerica.org/pdf/full_report/appendix_1.pdf
This Report Card uses the broader definition of homelessness as contained in the education subtitle of the McKinney-Vento
Act, Title X, Part C, of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and includes those who are living in motels and those who
share living situations temporarily because of loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reasons. This definition more
accurately reflects the reality of family homelessness by defining homeless children and youth as individuals who lack a
fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. The term includes children and youth who are:1
Sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason (sometimes
referred to as doubled-up);
Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to lack of alternative accommodations;
Living in emergency or transitional shelters;
Abandoned in hospitals;
Awaiting foster care placement;
Using a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular
sleeping accommodation for human beings;
Living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings;
and
Migratory children who qualify as homeless because they are living in circumstances described above.

(53,661 posts)It's behavior, not the subtext used that determines the act. It's pretty stale, textbook trolling by means of derailing.
I don't respond when I see propositions put forth easily disproved by facts, links and civics repeatedly to a poster. I've stopped doing the work for such posters, as it takes considerable time, such as the last one that got dozens of rebuttals.
That was just one instance of this. The poster did not respond to most of the answers, nor admit to the error, which might be understandable from being a bit embarrassed or confused, despite doubling down.
But jumped to another thread to spread the same misinformation gathered from RW memes. That said quite a bit about him. He had recieved a well deserved thrashing, as delicately doled out as the truth can be safely administered.

(53,661 posts)A self-aware, cognizant person who read the OP and not the names, would realize this thread is clearly a celebration of the most cherished American values that have brought people from around the globe to live here. They believe, they hope and they do make their lives better.
OP is not a policy discussion, but meant to announce a return to the values BushCo discarded as he shredded the American conscience. He deliberately gave democracy such a bad name that he empowered fascists and bigots. Now some people will prefer fascism or theocracy. That's the end result of BushCo's acts and it was intentional.
Let Obama show these posters they are OFF TOPIC. Derailing by not commenting on the OP, denied people a chance to talk about Equality for all Americans and for would be Americans. The posters that have derailed are refusing to allow a discussion of the beauty of inclusiveness fostered by the Constitution and Amendments, and that reflects badly on them.
But what Obama said still speaks to a beautiful American Ideal. Have a good night.

Si lo so
Amore che io e te
Forse stiamo insieme
Solo qualche instante
Zitti stiamo
Ad ascoltare
Il cielo
Alla Finestra
Questo mondo che
Si Sveglia e la notte e
Gia cosi lontana
Gia lontana
Guarda questa terra che
Che gira insieme a noi
Anche quando e buio
Guarda questa terra che
Che gira anche per noi
A darci un po' di
Sole, sole, sole
My love che sei l'amore mio
Sento la tua voce
E ascolto il mare
Sembra davvero il tuo respiro
L'amore che mi dai
Questo amore che
Sta li nascosto
In mezzo alle sue onde
A tutte le sue onde
Come una barca che
Guarda questa terra che
Che gira insieme a noi
Anche quando e buio
Guarda questa terra che
Che gira anche per noi
A darci un po' di
Sole, sole, sole
Sole, sole, sole
Guarda questa terra che
Che gira insieme a noi
A darci un po' di sole
Mighty sun
Mighty sun
Mighty sun
In English:
Yes I know
My love, that you and I
Are together briefly
For just a few moments
In silence
As we look out of our windows
And listen
To the sky
And to a world
That's awakening
And the night is already far away
Already, far away
Look at this world
Spinning with us
Even in the dark
Look at this world
Spinning for us
Giving us hope and some
Sun, sun sun
My love, you are you my love
I hear your voice,
And I listen to the sea.
It sounds just like your breathing
And all the love you want to give me
This love
That is there, hidden
Hidden among the waves
All the waves in the world
Just like a boat that...
Look at this world
Spinning with us
Even in the dark
Look at this world
Spinning for us
Giving us hope,
And some sun, sun, sun,
Some sun, sun, sun.
Look at this world
Spinning with us
Giving us some sun,
Mighty sun
Mighty sun

Why the hell should I give Manny the time of day for derailing my thread? Besides I do believe MADem wiped the floor clean with him. It was brilliant.
Marr
(20,317 posts)Maybe because a discussion board is about discussion, and not just posting unquestioned monologues?
Or maybe because after you demanded that Manny give you information to back up his comments, and he did so, the adult thing to do would be to acknowledge that information and take a moment to at least attempt a lucid rebuttal?
If you make a post (outside of the BOG), expect more than just clapping and happy emoticons and various versions of "you said it!11!!". If you do not understand why you should have 'given Manny the time of day' after you demanded that information, then you don't understand how two-way discussion works.
And by the way, I don't see where MADem 'wiped the floor with' Manny; quite the opposite, in fact. I do see a bit of the usual giddy high-fiving from the usual giddy high-fivers, and a whole lot of serious goal post moving, but that's about it.

(9,289 posts)when it comes to everyone mattering. Right or wrong, raising that issue in a thread that quotes Obama talking about everyone mattering is perfectly appropriate on a discussion board like DU. Manny did that and got tons of hate from the usual haters. The funny thing is that sheshe2 asked for him to back up his initial claims and then responded with outrage when he tried to do so. He was accused of being a bully and a hater, but Manny was not the one who went for the throat.
Marr
(20,317 posts)I agree. I think if you demand information, you should have the character to acknowledge someone taking the time to post it, and ideally, offer some kind of cogent rebuttal (if possible). Instead, it was all insults and about as bad a case of piling on as I've ever seen around here.

(135,425 posts)How soon some forget?
AARP lost MILLIONS of members over their donut hole position.
I don't personally know a single Democrat over the age of 65 who believes their bullshit. I do know people who remember how badly that donut hole fucked them over, though--and they're out the other end of it and still have not forgotten.
Now me, I'm a lucky so-and-so...I get my prescriptions, when I need them, on a military base for free. However, I've been in the drugstore and seen the stricken looks of customers asked to fork over hundreds for a prescription...so fuck AARP and their donut hole--they are lobbying tools of Big GOP Pharma and the Bill Frist Medical Industry. The woman who is the face of that organization got her start as a Reagan appointee at HUD, and the GOP has been very, very good to her, pushing her up the ladder and in the system until she broke out as a glorified lobbyist for business--not people. She's dancing with the ones what brung her, make no mistake.
Consider the source....ALWAYS. I sure do.
Here--take a walk down memory lane--can't believe you, of all people, could forget this so easily: http://prospect.org/article/seduction
Democrats didn't know about Hansen's e-mail. In fact, when recently told about it, one Democratic staffer expressed shock and said that AARP "double-crossed us." But the GOP's business allies saw the e-mail. The White House sent it out to key Republican lobbyists and such groups as the National Association of Manufacturers and the Business Roundtable to make sure they knew that AARP was still on board. Over the next weeks, AARP leaders worked closely with House Speaker Dennis Hastert and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist to craft a final bill. It passed the House on November 22 in the early morning hours, when GOP leaders left the vote open for a totally unprecedented three hours after they were initially unable to get the votes needed for passage.
Three days later the bill passed the Senate and, on December 8, President Bush signed it into law, which AARP hailed as "an important step toward fulfilling a longstanding promise to older and disabled Americans." Suddenly, the AARP wasn't looking like such a liberal Democratic ally.
For many Democrats, AARP's support for last November's Medicare prescription-drug bill came as a total shock. Not only could the law cause millions of seniors to lose more generous employer and state-coordinated drug benefits while providing only limited help to others; it is a major step toward the Republican Party's goal of privatizing Medicare and decimating employer-based health coverage.
To those few who were really watching closely, however, AARP's actions were not a surprise at all, and the group's conversion was anything but sudden. The story of the Republicans' seduction of AARP unfolded over nearly a decade, as GOP leaders cajoled, seduced, and occasionally threatened the group's leaders into changing their ways and accepting the reality of Republican congressional control. Today, with bad policy already law, the stakes are incredibly high, as regulations to implement the law loom, along with bills to repeal some of its worst aspects. And they will grow higher still if President Bush is re-elected and Republicans can continue toward their ultimate goals. As the battle to preserve Medicare unfolds, Democrats who were surprised by the bill's passage last November should understand a key part of the story, which has not been told, of how it happened.
Possibly the least surprised man in Washington last fall was Newt Gingrich. The former House speaker, who told a Blue Cross conference in 1995 that Medicare as a "government monopoly plan" was going to "wither on the vine" in favor of a Republican-designed "free-market plan," has spent the last nine years manipulating AARP.
I'm pretty confident that if Elizabeth Warren had been in the Senate when they were ramming that bill through, she would have had something to say about it--AND AARP...!
MannyGoldstein
(34,589 posts)Would you deny it?
The chained CPI stuff is basic news and math - I defy you to find any source that disagrees with AARP's reporting of it.
MADem
(135,425 posts)lost the bubble. AARP is an unreliable, right wing outfit in the pockets of the GOP. You want to lean on them for your proof, knock yourself out. I will have NOTHING to do with them, and most Democrats who were fucked over by them--or know someone who was--are standing with me.
So long as we're "defying" here, I defy YOU to just do the decent thing, and stop with the snarking, the sniping, the childish "gotchas" that aren't (or are only to the low-information reader) and the incessant and totally pointless and divisive thread derailing. 2. Nothing at all--absolutely NOTHING -- for a change.

Why didn't you do that, Manny? Why not drag out your rightwing AARP sources and refight a battle that is long dead, hmmmm, in a thread of your OWN, instead of stomping all over this 'un? No fun? (34,589 posts)And our senator does exactly that.
Do you disagree with her? Or is she not stating, in this video, that millions of foreclosures have occured because the White House has blown off its authority and responsibility?
sheshe2
(83,341 posts)It is all Obama's fault and always will be. Nothing he does is good. Not one damn thing.
You derailed my thread. Maliciously derailed what I said. You made this about you. I have never once seen you post so much on an Op even your own. 14 TIMES!!!!! Yet here you are attacking me. For stating this... Realy Manny?
Everybody Matters
President Barack Obama, State of the Union, January 20, 2015
I have no clue why you have focused on me tonight. I don't like it at all.
MannyGoldstein
(34,589 posts)That millions of families have had their homes foreclosed on because the White House has blown off its responsibility?
As to derailing your thread... no. Addressing your thread, yes.
sheshe2
(83,341 posts)And yes you derailed my OP. No you did not address it.
Newtown. The babies. Any comments on them? How about Native Americans? Any comment? No.
This thread is NOT ABOUT YOU MANNY!

President Barack Obama, State of the Union, January 20, 2015
This is what it was about before you derailed it. How pathetic to make all this about you.
The Newtown Babies
Do you give a shit?
The Child in the wheelchair
Nope.
It is all about you Manny.
MannyGoldstein
(34,589 posts)Then you attack me for responding to your request.

Nope, didn't think so.
I do not care for your special interest in me. Twenty plus comments tonight, yet you never comment in your own like that. This makes two Ops of mine in the same night that you took special interest in. This ain't twitter and I sure as hell do not want you to 'Follow' me. Back off Manny.

(295,915 posts)she! It wants us to register and I don't feel like doing that right now, though.
Yeah, it's sickening the way some on DU try to use Sen Warren to bash the President.. because if she did ever run.. you can bet your life she would want him to campaign with her. Not going to throw the huge Obama Coalition under the damn proverbial bus. Way too smart for that.. unlike those who go around throwing false premises out just to get their *** on.

We got your number, loud and clear!
I think everyone's eyes are wide open--and your conduct in this thread did a heckuvajob opening 'em, too!!!
MannyGoldstein
(34,589 posts)you have kept away from that, instead preferring to write lots of words attacking people.
So simple: show us the evidence. (If it exists, of course.)
MADem
(135,425 posts)Yeah, and you were free to not stomp all over a postive thread about how Everybody Matters with a quote from the SOTU and pictures of little kids....but no--you could NOT do that, could you?
You just had to stomp on the sandcastles!
Why don't you run on back to one of your protected groups, where you're safe from criticism of your "style?"
You're showing ME--and everyone else reading this thread--all the evidence they need~!

I know that you'll join me in letting Americans know that these organizations are conspiring to pollute our precious bodily fluids. In reality, smart people like you know that chained CPI is a good thing, which is clearly why you're defending it. Only the haterz think chained CPI is a benefits cut that would harm the neediest.
MADem
(135,425 posts)You remember AARP, don't you? You were citing them as your go-to source for all your facts and figures!
No one was talking about any of the people you're link-flinging about NOW...except YOU.
More deflection. More old links from back in the dark ages (Oooooh, the Nation!!! A 2013 article--where's the new one, where they're still expressing concern? Answer--there ain't one, because this isn't an issue anymore to anyone but YOU! A little behind the times, are you?).
More crap in the form of ancient links that has nothing to do with your insistence that GOP AARP is a "good" source for information. Gee, stopped doubling down on that source, did you? And your old 2013 (that was your favorite year--the only year this topic hit critical mass, and then faded away; because it ain't happening) link quoting Senator Warren isn't getting the reaction you hoped for, either--because, see, she's an adult...why, she can even work with guys like Orrin Hatch! Oh, the Huge Manatee!
Tsk, tsk...Manny, you CAN do better--and really...you should.

But do it in your OWN thread--stop derailing this one....oh, and take those goalposts with you!!!

Stop stinking up this positive SOTU/POTUS/Little Kid thread with "important" figures from 2013 that NO ONE--I mean NO ONE--not Elizabeth Warren, not AARP, not Congress, not POTUS--is talking about...and hasn't been talking about for TWO YEARS!!!!
But run along now, and fire up an URGENT thread, draw your acolytes near, and rail, rail, RAIL if it makes you feel good about yourself...just don't do it here, on this thread, which is all about EVERYBODY matters, POTUS, SOTU, and little kids. And whatever you do, don't tell them that your material is two years old and not a hot topic anymore...that'll ruin the drama. And that's some HARD truth, there, Manny.
Here, a picture that makes me smile:

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Goading, baiting, mocking--and that "picture of a woman with her posterior" is the woman with the "Got Obama's back" shirt on in the sig line. The "fact-free hate" with disturbing overtones, is coming from the person making the accusation. This is not civil discussion and it makes DU suck.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jan 22, 2015, 03:18 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Manny should know better than to trash another person's thread. Cleverly worded in order to avoid the hide, especially since there is so much opposition and intransigence. Leave it with a warning.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Time to go the way of BBI.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No Manny, it's more nastiness from you. Hide it.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Don't like that feedback? Try being NICE, Manny--CIVIL. Polite. Kind. Stop derailing threads, like you did this one--of course, your efforts had an unintended effect, they brought attention to your conduct, and the thread, which celebrates the concept that EVERYBODY MATTERS (with POTUS and kids to illustrate) has taken off, despite your repeated deposits of ancient arguments from 2013 that no one--save you--is concerned about.
Instead of sinking, this thread is like Maya Angelou...AND STILL I RISE! Watch this and learn something:
You can "DU" better, now, Manny--and you really should try. Just like hope ... still I rise!!!

(34,589 posts)Hey MADem, this is pretty disheartening. Even Senator Warren is a traitor.

Manny, Cindy Lauper has a song for you....
I am sorry that you're so angry that you have a need to behave this way. I wish you would try to interact in a positive and productive way with your fellow DUers, but it seems you have a hard time doing that. You keep coming back with outdated links that you expect people to not read, but as an infamous politician once said "Fooled me once, won't git fooled agin." You've fooled us once, Manny. We're not buying what you're selling anymore.
You can't manage to converse without rudeness and snark, and that's really sad.
Be happy--don't derail threads with two year old links and expect people to buy that nonsense. We've figured you out. "Jeez."
You're not a very good advocate for Senator Warren, with that kind of attitude. She's all about positivity and can-do--and she wouldn't wave around old wine in new bottles; that's not her style. You shouldn't do it either.
After all, to quote your comment elsewhere in this thread, when you were being thoughtlessly cruel to one of our members here, "You can do better."
And since you can, maybe you should.
MannyGoldstein
(34,589 posts)I have never seen goal posts move that fast in my entire life.
Careful! Don't sprain anything!
And so many words! Maybe people will read all of those words and forget what the topic is, who can tell?
And has the President apologized for trying to starve and freeze old people with his catfood commission and his fighting for chained CPI? Or, conversely, has Jan Schakowski apologized for using facts and math to come up with the same numbers as the AARP?
MADem
(135,425 posts)thread!!!
You took a goalpost consisting of a nice quote from the SOTU and a few cute pictures of kids, knocked it down, set it on fire, pissed on it, and then hauled out YOUR goalpost of links from a right wing GOP lobbying group and planted them on the fifty yard line!! You moved your goalposts from 2013 to 2015....and you hoped that no one would notice!!!!! Yeah!!! So many WORDS, Manny!! So many WORDS FROM 2013, on a topic that has faded and died because NO ONE IS CONTEMPLATING IT! Except "Trapped in a Time Warp Manny" that is!
It's MOXIE, I tell ya....pure MOXIE!!
And gee--no one is talking about this DIRE subject anymore--you can't find links more recent than 2013...and that was two years ago, kiddo--tempus fugit, and all that.
No one is buying your schtick anymore, Manny. You've outed yourself with your behavior in this thread--this thing is a gem, a bookmarker, a real keeper-- it illustrates very clearly what your goals--and your goalpost moving, since you brought it up--are all about.
You can "DU" better Manny. You should TRY. Just a little--you might find you like it. Or you can keep being uncivil, and people will start mentioning it to you--particularly when you crap on perfectly nice threads with two year old links and pretend that they matter.

Number23
(24,544 posts)I suggest that you start sending them a PM of every instance where you feel harassed. This thread is a really blatant example and so hopefully they've already seen it. He's outdone himself in this thread. One thing certain people here (so often men) don't seem to understand is that people should be allowed to post things without being constantly stalked and harassed by the same people. Disagreement, even passionate disagreement, is not the issue. It's the following, personal attacks, derailment and flat out bullying that goes on that's the problem. When someone tells you to leave them alone JUST FUCKING DO IT. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea if you just completely disengaged with Manny as well. No responses to him, ever. No matter how tempting his ever present flame bait may be.
Now, whether the admins will actually DO something with your PMs is the actual issue. But even if they don't do anything at the moment, we all know that they keep that kind of information handy.

I'm sure he and his pals are laughing up a storm that they got your post hidden up thread. And it's a shame that had to happen. But personally, if I had to choose between making such a spectacular ass out of myself all in the name of making sure that everyone here knows how much I hate the DEMOCRATIC president of the United States on a DEMOCRATIC board or take a hidden post, there really wouldn't be a contest.

(35,954 posts)I was on the jury for it. The only person at DU who got sheshe's post hidden was sheshe. The alert was for the accusation of racism aimed at two DUers in the thread. So I went and read the post it was in response to and found nothing. I read through the entire thread and found nothing. But I did see a lot of nastiness, accusations of stalking, bullying and all sorts of dramatic stuff aimed at one DUer in the thread. So it was an easy hide in the end. I don't have a dog in this particular fight, not being American and liking some people on both 'sides' of the bickering, and there's more than a few posts in this thread I'd have voted to hide if they were alerted on and I was on a jury for them, but a simple solution for folk who don't want their posts hidden is to play nice and not make things personal and nasty when the person they're replying to is discussing an issue and not personalities...

(24,544 posts)a GD "darling." I have no interest in playing with you and never have. I know this is how you get your kicks and I'm sure another alert will be on its way soon (but of course, not having been sent by you, nosiree!one) but I don't find you or your games interesting.
Although judging by the numerous PM's I've been getting, I should let you keep kicking this thread because not only does sheshe's rec keep going up but the number of people that appear to be finally seeing your true purpose here appears to be growing. Personally, I can't believe that you aren't as obvious to everyone as you always have been to me and a veritable slew of other posters here but people see things in their own time.

(50,130 posts)That matters. There is no backbone to our democracy without equal justice. And I believe this administration does not stand between the people and tyranny in that respect.
That matters.

(49,762 posts)Thanks for posting this, children love this President, they know from their heart they can trust him and it shows in every photo you see when children interact with him.
As to the attempted thread hijacking, well, it showed me who does think everybody matters and who is willing to use whoever, the poor, homeless, you name it if it helps them to try and derail a lovely, non-confrontational OP. The attempted disruption only served to show the poster as ready to throw the vulnerable under the bus if it suits their agenda just like the repubs. It's crystal clear to me.

(35,954 posts)My post from this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026119475#post209
and yr post about it in that thread complaining about a hide:
I'm not sure that your accusations of racism were appropriate for that particular thread but there is no doubt in my mind that the person(s) you directed that accusation to were spot on. You would be hard pressed to find a minority poster on DU that has not expressed those same sentiments towards that individual. And I have no doubt that's the ONLY reason your post was alerted on and certainly not because it was untrue.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/125554244#post86
Firstly, I didn't 'explain' - I read a few posts from you in this thread talking about the hide and claiming that DUers saw things as you did. So I said what I thought as a juror with no allegiances to one 'side' or the other when I looked back through the posts leading up to the alerted post. I posted in good faith and I thought you and I got on well, so I'm not sure why you couldn't be bothered to reply. Not that yr obligated to reply, but usually when people have nothing to say they don't say anything rather than going to a Meta thread somewhere else and announcing it there. The response to you in that thread was strange as well. I can only remember one exchange with the DUer who replied to you and it wasn't unpleasant so I'm not sure where they're coming up with that stuff about me disliking them. That appeared to be a rather random accusation of lack of objectivity. Even if I did dislike them, I'd treat them the way I treat other DUers I actually dislike when I'm called up to a jury for one of their posts. I'd do what I do with every alerted post I'm on a jury for. I'd look at the post and if what they've said is imo worthy of being hidden, I'd vote to hide. If it's not, I'd vote to leave. There's only been once when I backed out of a jury because I decided my dislike was going to cloud my judgement, but I hated that DUer with a passion, which is a rarer than rare thing for me...
Now I have a question for you. In yr post from that thread you claim that Manny and Marr are racists. While I don't tend to read many threads on domestic US politics, I have read enough from both of them to be surprised by that accusation. So, could you supply some links to where they're saying racist things?
Something I didn't get after reading this thread and that thread was after all the stuff along the lines of 'LEAVE ME ALONE!!! DON'T BULLY ME!!!' and being told by several DUers to use the ignore function if another DUer upsets them, why I was reading through that other thread and they're still, over 24 hrs later, talking about Manny. I dunno, my advice would be to get over it and move on because that sort of behaviour doesn't really support their claims of being bullied and stalked.
Note to self: don't post in these drama-fest threads anymore. It makes me feel like the Meta forum's come back

President Obama communicates this completely.
I'm blown away by what he's able to accomplish with empathy, humor and grace.
Thank you for this thread sheshe2. I love the photos!

(17,656 posts)It's a beautiful thread about our President,
And it was an honest depiction of the how test President we've had in many, many decades cares about everybody.
It's a shame that the admins of DU don't do something to prevent this sort of thing from happening at the forum that they are in control of.
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)I appreciate your concern, but I am quite content to remain the President of your fan club.
A team of wild horses couldn't get me to quit!!
Let me just say, you are the best thing that has happened to DU in the last 4 years!!
You are always so cheerful, bringing good news to the forum, usually containing fantastic pictures of our President in your threads.
You are the best!

(17,656 posts). . . I've grown pretty fond of you over the course of the last 2 or 3 years.
And it was rather easy to talk with you about President Obama, or about the weather, the entire time.
Whether you were posting in the BOG or on GD, it wasn't hard to see the care and attention you put forth in your comments about all of those issues.
You have a heart of gold, and I think that is obvious to everyone at the DU by now.
Yes, everybody matters.
Especially you!
