My friend who hates Obama is really having trouble now.

She can't find anything bad to complain about.

Gas is down, economy is heating up, stock market had a great day, ACA is working better than she ever expected. I don't think she cares about the immigration thing because it doesn't seem to come up on her radar. And she doesn't say anything about Cuba either.

And Obama's popularity is 49% now?

I don't even have to discuss this with her anymore. She reads the paper every day and a lot of the news is good now. Her problem is mainly that he is black and that he wore white pants once. Oh, and she saw a political cartoon making fun of Michelle's big butt. She thought that was hilarious. That is pretty desperate when that's the only thing you have to latch onto. And, for God's sake, Michelle Obama doesn't have a big butt. I think she has her mixed up with Kim K.

Living in Missouri can be a real challenge some times.

Some of that attitude is so entrenched, it boggles the mind. As in Frank's book, "Whats the Matter with Kansas", some can not help but argue (and vote) against their own self-interests...

They do that to Hillary all the time, too. I saw a picture of her one day when she had the audacity to go out without her makeup on. Lord. The criticism of her was just so over the top and just plain stupid.

What on earth does the shape of your butt have to do with anything important?

She doesn't like him. Not going to watch him.

She has never seen him. When I pointed that out she just said she doesn't need to. She just knows she doesn't like him.

Around here people form an opinion and then try to back it up with facts. Or rather they try to back it up with other opinions they have heard from like minded friends.

The Obama haters spend entire news cycles bashing Obama for wearing a bicycle helmet, for wearing dockers to the Gulf oil spill (I didn't know there was oil spill haute couture), for not eating a Philly sandwich on a visit to Philadelphia, for his conservative jeans ('mom jeans'), for his fashionable jeans ('thug jeans'), for sending non-religious themed Christmas cards, despite the fact that several of his predecessors did the same. It goes on and on. His vacation days, his golf, his use of Air Force One, everything he does is fodder for his haters, no matter how minuscule or trivial. I always know he's doing a good job when conservatives have nothing better to complain about than how Michelle Obama's mother is practicing voodoo in the White House.

I just cringe when people make comments about his appearance. There is so much to criticize him for, that his appearance should not enter into this.

I love Michelle, but for those that don't, isn't there some REASON they don't like her? Laura Bush got out of a manslaughter/murder rap, married Bush the Lesser, and followed the hater mentality. There was no need to make comment on her age or physical countenance.

Interesting how, now that he is following his own agenda (no beholden to anyone any more) the people are approving. I think it illuminates the dysfunction of our political process. He is acting "non-"politically now, and the people are happy.

the fact that most Americans have no idea about anything. Sometimes trying to rationally inform someone of anything is about as productive as trying to convince a rock to do gymnastics. I'd be more interested in seeing the why behind the popularity than the actual percent.

God forbid that a black man should be so much smarter than most of them. It's just too scary.

She was off one day on how weak Obama is compared to Putin. Smart but weak as water. I just told her to wait and see what happens. Obama is usually about 6 moves ahead of everyone else.

I really have great faith in him.

He could send them all a check for a million bucks. They wouldn't cash it and still call Obama bad words because he's black.

There are so many people who grow up being taught to hate people of other colors. I have seen parents in the South teach their toddlers to say the N word, so it's inculcated in them from birth.

And yes, that black man is in "their" white house. As if any of them could ever have even a smidge of achievement to get them there.

Sickening, really, that people are so ignorant and primitive and tribal.

We say Obama and Michelle should go on the air and say that breathing is good for you. All the racists would stop breathing out of defiance and our problems would be solved!

primitive and tribal" about that black man in their white house. That's amerikkka from day one.....from genocide, to slavery, to jim crow and segregation all leading up to the same thing being true today because a black man lives in their white house....you say no slavery, look at the for profit prison system...it's the new plantation system of the privileged few trying to rid themselves of the many of color in the unprivileged minority. And you are right, it's sickening and disgustingly ignorant.

It has gotten so bad that I tell them I do not vote just so they will STFU and stop quoting Limpballs!

Mon Dec 22, 2014, 03:23 PM

When I was in my 20s I was pretty darn skinny but my butt stuck out like a drawer. Round and out. A girl attacked me for it. Said I was walking on purpose in a sash shay to show it off. I had the porch swing walk I was pretty naive then and did not realize that I walked like that.

After being married and still skinny after two kids I was working one evening in my office and a guy from Jamaica commented I reminded him of "back home."

Finally in a spiritual course the speaker for some reason or another made me stand on a chair and turn around with my butt facing the audience. and said "Isn't that the best looking butt you ever saw."

I never was offended. I guess because my husband said he married me for my butt. (We call them bum in Canada). He was a butt man. as some guys like breasts . I loved my husband very much. I miss him and I miss his grabbing my butt.

I think the Obamas are pretty fit and both very attractive. Those that make fun of them are very jealous.
