I'm as critical of the current White House as anyone, but kudos to President Obama for improving relations with Cuba. It's still not clear to me how much of an improvement it will be - for example, we'll be reviewing whether they are still a state sponsor of terrorism, etc.
But an improvement, it seems.
Thanks, Obama.
(Hopefully Cuba can now export its health care system to us!)

(31,849 posts)though I'm not certain you phrased it correctly. For example, we'll be scratching our heads trying to figure out whose evening will be made, etc. But kudos ... It's a positive statement, it seems.
Thanks, BG. I guess.

(62,269 posts)They'll be off the watchlist. Obama's words on ABC News tonight convinced me of that tonight. You can't exactly open up a new embassy in a state you consider a sponsor of terrorism.

(6,719 posts)I am glad I lived to see it. That situation with Cuba has never made sense to me. I lived thru the Cuban missle crisis and I understand JFK had to make a token gesture. But 53 years is no token! Way too long. I can't wait to go visit. wow That will be an adventure. Want to go before the American corporations slick every thing up to Hilton standards.
