I saw George Will and Karl Rove defending torture on TV this morning...
It was almost like a kid explaining to his Mom why some cookies were missing from the jar??
They looked insincere and trivial, in their partisan attempts to rationalize the torture of the Bush Administration. Everything is political with these guys. Nothing is moral or immoral outside the partisan guidelines.
Of course, water-boarding and rectal re-hydration are not torture. And as if he were there when each of these "enhanced interrogations" was going on, Rove assured us that their feet were elevated so the water would not go down into their lungs. It was so bullshit.
And Will's rationalization was that everyone, except he, had forgotten how they felt on September 12th and how everyone is naive and out of touch with the real world. It's a dangerous world out there and people want to kill us. And the impression was that whatever we had to do to keep our country safe was acceptable?
The liberal media is at war with the defenders of torture and the liberal media is not winning. Next I expect to hear that children were raped and molested but it was necessary to get the suspected terrorists to talk? Why would anyone question such a rationalization?
