Booker's vote is a pleasant surprise. The man who went on MTP as Obama's 2012 campaign surrogate, but criticized Obama for criticizing Wall Street during that campaign. Change of heart, or vision improved enough to see the handwriting on the wall?

Manchin also a pleasant surprise.

Tester, Blue Dog, voted no. (Not fond of Blue Dogs, but I always felt Tester was different from a Blue Dog like Baucus.)

Healthy number of Republicans voting no. Fucking Inhofe not voting at all. Fucking DiFi as well.

I love the smell of the sea (as in sea change).

It's certainly possible the original plan for the caucus was for him to vote yes, but then the caucus leaders decided it would be better if he voted no.

make sure he was her opponent and not a saner Republican. (I know you know that, but people from other states may have missed it.) If she voted populist on this, that increases my hope for a return of the Party to its election-winning roots.

California has been very involved in environmental issues, but that is probably not the side Difi's bread is buttered on. She may have thought not voting would be less damaging with California voters than voting yes, and also less damaging with her donors than voting no.

Both railed against Obama's Executive Order concerning immigration reform last month.
Both are racist Republicans.

does fund the President's Immigration Reform Bill! Oooops. Course, cruz and mike lee voted against it too.

And, if it didn't pass it would linger and shutdown the government.. and the pubs would be in charge of the next one.. and it could be a whole lot worse(I mean why wouldn't it be?).

I've been looking at it and.. and one bad bad thing that stands out is this in Washington DC..

snip//

"Marijuana legalization: On November 4, 69.4 percent of Washington, DC voters backed a referendum legalizing marijuana. The ballot measure didn't provide a mechanism for legal sales, but the DC Council was set to implement regulations and taxes similar to those in Washington and Colorado. The spending deal bars DC from implementing the ballot initiative or setting up a legal sales system. Leaving aside the merits of marijuana legalization, this is a pretty egregious way of disenfranchising DC voters, and it's prima facie offensive for representatives from the rest of the country to be overruling DC's citizens and elected officials."

http://www.vox.com/2014/12/11/7377253/cromnibus-veto

I know how that feels.. two different fed judges in Hawaii ruled against the Will of the People voting against Monsanto in Maui and Kauai.
