Random Thoughts About Zimmerman

I find what Zimmerman told Trayvon Martin's parents in court today odd. He said he was sorry, and that he thought Martin was older and didn't know if he was armed. If those words were meant as comfort, they're seriously lacking. I saw and heard no remorse, no sadness, no apparent distress from what had occurred.

The photo of Zimmerman's head is nothing but a minor laceration (cut). The head bleeds profusely when injured, and it always looks worse than it really is. If Zimmerman had been seriously injured, he would have been taken to the hospital. I don't know the time lapse between the photo of the blood and the surveillance camera video, but it's evident Zimmerman's head cleaned up nicely.

I know in this country it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty....but.....

Such as that given by the person he was speaking with on the non-emergency line to the Sanford PD just before the shooting, and the advice of attorneys to keep his mouth shut.

His reactions never quiet seem to be appropriate to the situation. It's either over reacting, like with the shooting of Trayvon and tossing that woman when he was working as a security guard/bouncer, or under reacting, as in that flat apology.

From what I've read and heard, his father sounds like a big part of the problem.

I think he is easily manipulated and somebody is going to put him into a situation just made to order for him to step on his johnson and incriminate himself big time. He seems to be somewhat delusional and his daddy has always pulled his chestnuts out of the fire before so it's very easy to imagine him shooting his mouth off at some wing nut rally and step in it.

He'd be better off in jail where his dumbass big mouth can't get him into trouble.

This guy is not destined for a long and happy life regardless of what happens in this case.

Likely JHP... but what kind?

Apr 2012

someone tried to grab his hair to pull him and was only able to scratch him since he has no hair. Trayvon may have tried to pull Zimmerman off him that way in his fight for his life and to get free.

My random thought when I saw the wounds. they look like long scratches, not like someone was banging his head against the sidewalk.

that amount of blood would come from superficial lacerations - not from pounding the head into cement. Scratches are entirely plausible.

responses to outside stimuli, such as his attorneys and responses to the judge, just plain creepy.

Also, the new suit just does not fit right. I had a twinge of feeling sorry for him, but then I remembered the deceased child.

Zimmerman is a lesser victim of the vigilante new right wing. He thought and was raised that white makes right and had no legal or cultural reason to think otherwise. A few years ago, without audio and video and witnesses, he would have likely been correct. He may still go free, but there has been a cultural shift, as well as a social media/Twitter shift.

Probably why it looked like it didn't fit quite right.

I don't feel the least sorry for him. Actually I sorta did just a little, because of what you said in your last paragraph - he was raised to be this way. Then I heard that insulting b.s. so-called 'apology' and lost all sympathy for him. Until he is either permanently locked up or confined to a mental institution where it appears he belongs (getting the treatment he needs, of course). That boy is one sick f**k if you ask me.

I would imagine he was in shock at the whirlwind of events lately.

The injuries thing - there are rumors and bits of evidence that vary, so we may not know the story on that until the trial.

I have never heard of someone charged with second degree murder being allowed to apologize
at the bond hearing. Especially knowing it will be televised and will further taint the jury pool.

so it didn't seem genuine.

I was merely pointing out that I don't think people act the same way on a witness stand as they do in a personal conversation. Imagine yourself sitting on a witness stand, with a packed audience all staring at you, with TV cameras in the room pointed at you, and someone transcribing your every word. It's not a natural setting. I think I would be somewhat wooden or frozen. I think he's also probably a bit in shock after all the events. His life has not been the same since the shooting, and he's been moving around, trying to be safe, and other things.

I'm not excusing anything. He brought this on himself. I'm just saying, I thought he acted pretty much as many people would have on the stand.
