Apparently a lot of people loved Facts.
The obituary I wrote for this once beloved concept was circulated far and wide today on Facebook and Twitter, giving people around the world a chance to mourn online. As it spread virally, more than 2,000 people sent tweets linking to the story and more than 11,000 posted the obituary to Facebook.
I reached out to Proof, a close friend of Facts, who said Facts' family was uplifted by the global show of support.
But the attention also brought out critics. Urban Legend posted on its blog: "Facts were never relevant, and now everybody's getting weepy? LOL. I say good riddance!"
