Perhaps "unless" means something different to Daddy Z...or maybe it means exactly the same thing

.....as we all think it means!

"I've never known him to be violent at all unless he was provoked and then he would turn the other cheek," his father, Robert Zimmerman, told defense attorney Mark O'Mara.
not violent unless provoked..That to me means that he would be violent if provoked. But then, in the same sentence daddy Z says son would turn the other cheek? Well which one is it? Talk about gobbledy gook.

"I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son," a stoic Zimmerman said in his first public statements about the death. "I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. I did not know if he was armed or not."

...so to be on the safe side he shot Trayvon?

Defense of Z's actions is that it's ok for people walking on public streets to make unsubstantiated determinations of who is armed or not, and kill on that premis?
