(37,364 posts)I wouldn't fault her on her choice of snacking material. There are other issues I'm more concerned with.

(5,325 posts)A vegetable tray with, perhaps, some vinaigrette (and why, pray tell, do I ALWAYS have to look up the spelling of that word???) or ranch dressing for dipping, room temp water and diet soda.......
I'm not Hillary's biggest fan, but that doesn't sound fancy-schmancy or unreasonable to me. Have these people (the writers of the article) seen what most of the vapid pop singers require in their dressing rooms? Now that's outrageous. This sounds rather nice, and not the least bit capricious.

(146,286 posts)and not elaborate. I don't know about the other stuff. It's not extravagant at all, really. Compared with the demands of some others, this is not extraordinary, I think. At least there are free student tickets. That's not always the case when prominent people come.

are those financials open for public review as they sound like charities???
Didn't one of their institutions run into trouble on how they managed their finances and where so much money mysteriously disappeared to?
Are we sure that the best part of those donations go to..... who? To fly around hollywood stars and their dogs on expensive aircraft? To impress and schmooze with the elite for favors?

There are many sources for this BBB rating. I can't give a link because I will cause strokes and gasps. If you are interested in more reading, I recommend The Goog.
President Clinton's charitable foundation failed to meet at least six of 19 accountability standards established by the Better Business Bureau, according to a recent report from the watchdog group.
The report, issued in June, said the Clinton Foundation lacks policies requiring performance reviews for its chief executive officer and for the organization as a whole. The Better Business Bureau review also observed that the foundation's annual reports and Web site do not contain detailed financial statements or information about the charity's board of directors.
In addition, the bureau's charity evaluation service, called the Wise Giving Alliance, said it could not establish whether the foundation was observing five other good-governance practices regarding board meetings, conflict-of-interest policies, budget issues, and donor privacy.
"There are a number of concerns here," the head of the alliance, Bennett Weiner, said in an interview. "We didn't get a copy of the audited financial statement. They did have an annual report, but it didn't include specifically the board roster and the summary of finances that is recommended."
Mr. Weiner said nonprofit groups that seek money on the Internet should post detailed financial reports online.

and I didn't realize that it was Not the NYT, that was the intent but got the wrong link - and I have no idea what Town Hall is. I can't keep up with what is approved and what isn't here.

(1,596 posts)Hillary is going to get $300,000 more dollars for a foundation that does not follow the rules for disclosure.
This hummus and room temp water 'story' is downright stupid and a waste of internet ink.

(13,616 posts)as a former Paralegal that had to arrange a party or two for the boss. You want arrogant and flashy, try a bunch of lawyers celebreating themselves. The wine bill alone would make Hillary seems like she was on food stamps. No wine, No dessert menu,No cigars, just Hummus, veggies and some beverages.
Like I said, I do think Hillary may have lost the ability to empathize with common folk; she had to give that up back when she was a Wal-Mart exec, but this list of demands as feather light. There is nothing here that cannot be taken care of with a simpeltrip to wal-mart/target/any old supermarket.

(6,262 posts)Just when she should be building good will prior to announcing, she and/or her team or bookers are sabatoging her image with crap like this.
She may very well become our nominee and I will support and work on her behalf -- but she will NOT win the general election with stories like this one.
All the Repubs need to do is to hide the crazy for a brief time.
I admire her many accomplishments but I really wonder about her common sense.

(10,715 posts)This is a ridiculous piece. Anyone running for national office and travelling with a staff would have various needs, and has people to manage things in a way as to avoid stupid mistakes and last-minute emergencies. Anyone who's travelled and done events should know there's a great deal to prepare in advance, and the littlest things can cause the most problems. This is just another hit-piece.
I haven't heard any good reason not to support Mrs. Clinton, and I open these links from time to time to see if there's some policy or position that has something substantial I object to. So far, about all I find are assholes writing insubstantial hit-pieces, the same kind of vague-but-vicious character attacks we've had against Obama and any other progressive politician for years.
