Me, I am for my family and friends and even my neighbors and thankful that I'm still breathing for another year.
I'm thankful that I express myself through words and music and that I can share my expressessions.
I'm thankful for what little possessions I have, because I know that they can be lost at any time.
I'm thankful that I can be thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

(45,851 posts)I'm thankful that I have been here and now for this brief moment, that I have been allowed to stand on the shoulders of giants in order to reach some faint glimmering of understanding of the strange and marvelous universe that we inhabit.
I'm thankful that I have enough good food to eat and clean water to drink, a warm and dry place to sleep when it's cold and wet outside.
I'm thankful that I have a dog who adores me and is in fact keeping my lap warm even as I type this.
I'm thankful for the good people of DU and other sites I go to who keep me challenged, informed and entertained.
Godspeed y'all.

I'm looking forward to reading more of them, as folks read the thread and post their own thanks.
We truly have much for which to be thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving Fumesucker!

I am thankful for my family, including those who are not blood related.
I am thankful for my pets...including the ones I have lost, despite my sorrow.
I am thankful for being able to afford healthcare, despite the damn doctors not knowing why I am sick.
I am thankful I get to be me.

TWO posts on the Greatest Page at the same time!!!
I also got my second non-meta hide for flat out calling someone a liar instead of the more politically correct "mistaken", but I am even thankful for that: I needed the reminder that recognizing "on purpose playing dumb" can be a successful strategy when attempting to justify criminal acts, and will now look for it going forward, so an educational moment for the win.
ON EDIT: Make that THREE! Wow! DU!

(50,261 posts)And for the Kubota tractor with the bucket loader that has already begun cleaning my driveway. I'm thankful the transformer across the road that burned completely during the snow storm (and I mean completely . . . it's gone) didn't torch the house. Finally, I'm thankful I don't have a house filled with relatives expecting a nice dinner. We're having a Cajun Thanksgiving . . . gumbo for all!
